I had a 2024 Ranger Raptor and the worst thing about it besides cam phasers was the constant need to put in torque on the wheel when using lane keep assist on a straight road.

In the 2026 it hasn’t happened to me once and made automatic cruise with lane keep assist really enjoyable to use.

Wondering if a update somehow would help a 2025 lane assist with the Torque on the wheel thing

Can't you adjust the amount of push when lane assist is on?

2026 here. I think the ACC is great and lane keep is weak. Half my tests let the truck drift into another lane with no intervention.

I recently rented a Kia Telluride for a multi day road-trip and the aids were fantastic. 99% drove itself. I wish my truck had that.

Agreed. My wife’s Kia practically lives at the dealer for repairs these days and each time they put us in a new loaner I’m amazed at how good their aids are, even on base models. The lane centering can be enabled anytime and nails the car to the center of the lane regardless of stripe condition. Doesn’t turn the lane centering off as soon as you tap the brake. Everything is very responsive and it doesn’t bug you constantly. Works well in stop and go too. Like you said, car practically drives itself. Ford has been a huge disappointment in that regard. I hate that it only works when ACC is on otherwise you just get LKA, if you’re lucky, and as stated it has been weak and unreliable for me. The lane centering is really picky about stripes and constantly disengages or nannys to jiggle the wheel even when my hands are at 3 and 9 the whole time. I can drive uninterrupted with just one hand pulling slightly down on the side of the wheel but that’s neither comfortable for me nor as safe as having both hands on ready to intervene when necessary.

I still wouldn’t buy a Kia again, though. I just wish Ford would put more resources into their software team.

Are cam phasers a potential issue on 24s? I haven’t seen that to be a prevalent issue but would like to be aware as I have a 24.
