Smoother on road than the '21 RWD. Shocks are stiffer and firmer, so rear doesn't float like the 5G.How are the fx4 on highway? Is it bouncy or smooth?
Getting about 22 MPG combined with the 2.7 V6.

I was going to hold off but with the drive shaft noise showing up,I decided to just try and do it now. Plus my trade in value is still good. Last time it took 1 to 2 months to fix it.If you're not in a rush to buy, you could wait till the 2027 Ranger Tremor is released. Might be an in-between option in terms of decent off-road with better fuel economy than a Raptor.
ThanksWelcome Jimmy. The 6G trucks seem better so far from what people are posting.
I have seen some reports of rear axle and driveline noise still happening on some trucks, but not as much as the older Rangers.
Your noise could still be tires if they are getting low on tread. A bad wheel bearing or front diff can also make noise when letting off the gas.
If you are looking at a Raptor, the suspension, interior, and power are a big step up from the XLT. The Lariat is also a good middle option if you want to save some money.
Hope your next truck treats you better than the 21 did.
Have 24 Lariat Fx4 with 2.7L. Ride is smooth on highway, have taken many 400-mile round trips to see mom a few hours away. Picked it up in Mid-September and now only have a bit over 19k with no problems other than recalls. The 2.7L is zippy (love it) and good in the mountains. Sport mode going downhill keeps from having to ride the brakes. I average about 20 MPG overall, but highway I can get 26 MPG if I keep the right foot at bay. I do have an ARE topper which helps keep the back in down, so it does not bounce as much....until I'm off road which is to be expected. How are the fx4 on highway? Is it bouncy or smooth?
Really happy with the ride on my new '26 FX4, seems very firmly planted and rides as expected. My daily is a take-home Ford PIU Explorer, so I'm used to a little more firm. Not jiggly at all though IMOHow are the fx4 on highway? Is it bouncy or smooth?
Here is an avalanche XLT I looked at yesterday. It's not bad but I'm on the fence between it or waiting on o desert tan Ranger the dealer has inbound.I put in for a pre-approval loan with my bank. They gave me more than enough and 4.34 apr. Will going shopping this weekend.
Is avalanche a good color?
I test drove the avalanche ranger but I think the sand looks better. Here is an avalanche XLT I looked at yesterday. It's not bad but I'm on the fence between it or waiting on o desert tan Ranger the dealer has inbound.

Me too. Wife and I just talked about it. We decided to wait on the tan one to arrive. Other than the black-out package they are both equipped the same.I test drove the avalanche ranger but I think the sand looks better.
I ended up with the Raptor. Got the white because it was the only one. Here is an avalanche XLT I looked at yesterday. It's not bad but I'm on the fence between it or waiting on o desert tan Ranger the dealer has inbound.

They had a nice sand xlt here, only missing fx4. It was going to be my fall back purchase but it sold.Nice! I've always been a fan of white trucks, especially in the desert heat.
Dealer asked me if I would be interested in a Raptor yesterday. I told him no, for a few reasons.
I'm an old guy, slowing down, and don't hit the desert near as much as I used to.
I didn't want to take the hit on tow capacity or fuel mileage.
Enjoy your Raptor.
Yeah I'm really enjoying it.Congrats on your purchase. You are going to be so happy you chose the Raptor.
