I’ve got 4 1” hub centric wheel spacers from BuckleUp Off-road I’m going to install this weekend, but I’m getting some conflicting information. I’ve read that red Loctite is a must on the spacer and torqued to 103 ft lbs with a retorque at 50 miles. Won’t the loctite be cured way before that? Doesn’t seem right to break that bond retorquing. I’ve also read that lock tight is unnecessary. Anyone have spacers that can inform me my best option. Torque once with loctite on and be done with it or retorque at 50 miles and don’t use the loctite. Just want to do it right and safely the first time.

This isn't the say all but when Ive used the spacers on several vehicles one dedicated to 4 wheeling and tree bashing . I used the blue, red is considered a permanent area of loctite and heat will be needed to remove. The factory manual says to re-torque even the wheels after 100 miles at 135nm is rounded to 100lbs. The re-torque is done with the tire resting on the ground per the manual. The re-torque is because the aluminum needs a heat cycle to settle in. You might get one or two to move per wheel afterwards, it's just safe to check even periodically after the initial use of spacers! Use your best judgement., Ranger On!:like:
Let me add, use a star/criss-cross pattern and tighten in stages. Ive always done three, 50lbs, 70lbs and then final torque.

i use blue also but since i used the loctite, i don't retorque them. i never have when using loctite on stuff. this is the 3rd or 4th vehicle i have run spacers or adapters on and i have not had any issues.

i don't know if its right or not but i looked at it like @JrHDRanger does. it will break the loctite if you retorque it

Thanks superj, I should have added that a re-torque for any of the loctites should be done before it fully cures or sets, which they say is 24 hours. I always run the vehicle for a short trip with plenty of heavy braking to warm things up and re-torque soon after finishing the spacer/wheel install! If they move after loctite, it ain't working right!?:LOL:

I definitely wouldn't use red.

In my opinion, put some blue on there, torque to 100 lb-ft, and call it a day. Retorquing the lug nuts will break the bond.

Thanks for all the insight. I went ahead and knocked it out this morning. I had some blue loctite so I used that. Looks way more aggressive with the offset, should have done it a long time ago. I’ll post some pictures on the forum later today. Thanks again.
