I have a 2026 Lariat with the factory tow package and 2.3 engine I got back at the beginning of March and she just turned 900 miles old. I am moving my mom back to Nebraska from Southern Missouri. Right now the plan is to use the Ranger to bring back 2019 Kia Sorento FWD on a u-haul car dolly. My estimates put the Kia and car dolly about 4500lbs. My concern is running 55 to 65 mph is that Kia and car dolly going to try to whip me and my Ranger around. What's yours guys thoughts, should a bigger truck be used, any thoughts or suggestions be appreciated.

I would think if the KIA is centered well it should not be too much of a problem.

I tow a 3500 lbs trailer and if it's windy I need to keep the speed down to like 55. I normally tow at 63-65 mph

I towed with my 22 Ranger a few times 2000 lbs trailer and didn't even know it was back there. I just rembering back in the day towing a car on a car dolly with I believe a 96 Blazer and if I remember right that Blazer was a handful at 55mph with that car on the dolly, that is what is kinda worrying me.

My son towed his bmw from the bottom of texas to omaha nebraska on a uhaul tow dolly with his old 24 stx 2.3 4x4. Said you could barely tell it was there.

He said that it towed so well that he ended up setting cruise st 72mph

I towed a 4100 pound trailer 850 miles with no problem and no WD hitch. You should have no problems. keep it under 65 MPH

24 xlt 2.7 with the tow package. I used a tow dolly to pick up a Prius. It pulled very nicely and most of the time I didn't realize it was there. (I kept wondering why this Prius was tailgating me). About 150 miles on the highway
I didn't even notice a big change in MPG.
