I think I've only seen this error 2 times and do not recall the time/day or environmental factors. I thought it was just a process that did not start or something like that. Anyone with experience know about this error? I do not tow or have a need Yet...

Should I just take it to my dealer and have them check ECU errors etc?

Thanks. I'll check connectors and reach out to dealer as well.
Just fixed this problem on mine. Rented u haul and used flat connection for first time and started getting code after. Checked outlet and it had a bunch of grease between legs. Don't know if the grease came in u haul connector or if it was already down in my plug but was causing fault. Sprayed out with carburetor cleaner and she good to go. Did put bunch paper towels on bumper in case the cleaner hard on plastic. Good luck

Thanks for the tip! I checked wires under the bumper but never the plug itself. Will check that

So I went ahead and checked both connectors and they both look like they have grease all over.. I've never tow with this vehicle so how does this happen?

So i texted my friend who worked at Ford for years, now at subaru. He said: "it's meant to be there to prevent moisture and corrosion out. At least that's the theory"

it looks factory for corrosion prevention. the three right pins full of grease is the give away because if it came from a trailer plug, the grease would not be inside those three pins so much as the trailer pins push into those

Update: Just got back from my local dealer and they checked all my connections, pins, all the way to the module and found nothing wrong, however there was a update to the module, so they cleared codes, updated module and codes did not come back. So let's hope that's all I hear about this issue going forward.

I get this when towing. I usually click OK and it goes away. Everything is working fine. Only happens for me when something is plugged in, so figured it's a slight voltage fluctuation that is triggering something.

Will check with my dealer to see if there is a module update as well next time I head in.
