In my last truck I had weathertech which worked great for keeping things clean, but my gf HATED them. She likes to take her shoes off on road trips, etc and the material on them was hard / uncomfortable.

Looking at the tuxmat website, seems like the coverage is great. Anyone that has a set able to speak to the 'comfort' of them? They don't appear to have ridges, are they soft?

These are the mats I am looking at: https://www.tuxmat.com/products/8851-ford-ranger-custom-mat?year=2025&make=Ford&model=Ranger

Thanks!

Never heard of them but I googled looking for reviews on them and i found this:

Hello, I have tried the OEM, Tuxmat, and WeatherTech before settling with the Husky mats. OEM mats are not high enough, they let water in through the side. Tuxmats are well-made, but once installed they almost become permanent attachment. Since it is quite impossible to remove them for cleaning, they did not work for me as I need to clean my mats at least twice a month during the harsh Ottawa winters. The WeatherTech mats were nice, jut a bit too hard for my liking. They were too expensive to justify. I found some Husky on sale and tried them last. They were as good as the WeatherTech mats, but cheaper! Have been using them for a while now, all good!

I've only used WeatherTech mats. My wife has never complained about them and she also takes her shoes off on long trips.

Hope that helps

They a good mat unfortunately when I got mine they hadn't made them yet so I ended up with Husky ones.

This is my second Tuxmats install and I will never go back to hard shell like weather tech.

They are more comfortable, clean better and look nicer. My wife loves the soft feeling and it is just more pleasant and feels higher end to step on, hard to describe. I used to like the squishy rubber mats as well, but the coverage was awful compared to trays.

They are harder to remove, so if you are doing muddy boots stuff all the time in a serious work truck, you probably want trays not mats. You probably want to get a tub and remove the interior carpet also.

Otherwise there's no need to remove them, I just vacuum and then clean with some generic surface cleaner and microfiber. Unlike the hard mats these don't seem to stain easily. I posted picture of my install in the forums.

I had them in a Subaru and they were great. Covered so much better than any thing else and really I didn't have a problem taking them out to clean.
Weathertech is ok but I think they have gotten a bit over rated since there are now more options out there.

Huskys are excellent for the price. I gave my mom a set for her CR-V and she loves them.

I had them in a Subaru and are excellent. This time I went budget in the Ranger with Husky’s and cannot stand them. They feel cheap. They move around. Coverage is ok.

Just ordered TuxMats.

But once, cry once.

Thanks for the feedback all. Sounds like they are worth getting.

Day to day my truck stays clean, I just need the coverage for weekend camping trips / etc that happen here and there. Sounds like these are a good option for that, I don't have to remove them often for cleaning but still able to do so as needed.

Forgot to mention, my recommendation is get them to add or buy a second pack of mounting pads. I used a few from my parts bin I had from my last install to get everything to fit snug.

I’m pretty sure Weathertech came out with their HP series in response to TuxMat. They’re a lot softer than the regular WeatherTech liners.

Coming from German brands, Tuxmat is my favorite. Good coverage and softer than the plastic mats.

They are flexible, so they attach with three types of mounting clips that attach to the perimeter piping on the mats to keep them flat. One is velcro, so you can just basically unstick those (but they are really stiff commercial hook and loop so it isn't a good idea to rip them on and off all the time). The second are 3M sticker types. Lastly, the easy ones are little Z clips that fit underneath the plastic trim panels where they fit over the normal carpeted floor. Some vehicles you can get away with all the last type (Ranger is not one of them), so its super easy to take in and out.

For more complex mat shapes with sticky or velcro connections, in order to remove a mat you have to pull these all off, or carefully pull the edges out of the clips and reinstall them in the same clips. Definitely doable, for periodic detailing and stuff like that. Not recommended for every weekend pulling them out to hose them out, imo.

Hence why if you are tracking through stuff all the time, I'd still go weather tech or similar trays. Personally, I haven't had an issue just cleaning these in the vehicle. No need to pull them out.

LOL... Criminy, first mats I've ever heard of needing this much engineering to keep in place. Thanks for the detailed info.

I never put the clips on and always fine.
I think it's a lawyer thing 🙃

I like the one piece for the second row and it covers up to the seats
