I believe Scott was talking about Toyota Tacoma's
Im with you. I’m getting a lariat. The taco rear seat room is just too small. Doesn’t even look practical. But unfortunately I might have to forgo the Ranger all together because my transmission dropped this morning. Was hoping on using that for trade in $. Might have to go pick up a Colorado on the lot. No sense in repairing my tranny for 7k and then buying a new vehicle. Happy Monday :(

That stinks.
I owned a 2017 Colorado and it was nice. New ones look really good.
Two different trucks though. Not sure what I liked better. I know on long trips I liked the Ranger for comfort. I heard the new Colorado's are far more comfortable.
I bought a Colorado because I go tired of waiting for Ford to actually produce the Ranger. Funny thing is I still ended up with a 2019 Ranger just at the end of the model year.
With prices and interest rates I am waiting. My Ranger is perfectly fine for my needs right now. Gives me time to see how it all pans out.

Would you mind directing me to where you read that bc if we get a hybrid ranger being build in 2024 I’d be all over that!
Sorry, I was referring to the Toyota and not the Ranger.

My fault for not specifying which one.

How do y'all track the build date? I bought the allocated Ranger Raptor to the dealer. I sealed the deal 4 days before the strike. They forecasted mid Nov at their lot. I did not see any screen data.

What data do I need from the dealer for me track the build myself?

When your order is placed as a retail order it will be processed by Ford. The strike should not affect that. Once Ford processes your order and it should take about 1 week you will receive an order conformation vie email at the address you gave to the dealer. The email will be from CRC ( customer relations center) It will have your order number, but the VIN will not be issued till all the parts are available and can be scheduled. You cannot track it till you have the VIN. I would suggest your ask your dealer for a order review as well as that will have the order number and a priority number. It should also list your order at retail, if not you need to talk to your dealer. If you do not receive anything from Ford in say 2 weeks, I would certainly contact the dealer.
Hate to burst your bubble but mid Nov is a huge stretch, even without the strike. Many people ordered around May 27th when the first could be ordered.
You also mentioned the allocated ranger? That was the case in May, are you saying a dealer still had the 1 unit allocation available? Those first units were also ordered as dealer stock only and have to be converted to retail. Most had that done some time back. If it is still a dealer stock order, you will receive nothing from Ford till converted. Dealer stock is also at the end of the line for build times.

Thank you for the education. This the first time I ever bought a vehicle not on the lot.

Yes, that is the case. It is a dealer stock.

I filled the build-price, then I was directed to the dealer. The dealer happened to have one on order exactly what color I specified in build.

They sent me their order form, I went to their dealership put down payment. They took information put my name on the vehicle.

This is their order sheet, no customer specified.

Stock and Priority 1 don’t jive. Stock orders have priority 20 or higher. I thought only Ford itself could make something priority 1.

Yes, Priority Codes less then 9 are changeable by Division managers only.
However, have seen a few things that were odd on Raptor orders so would not worry about it much.
Need to contact the dealer and request the order be converted to Retail. This is easy for them, but most don't know so you have to push a little.
Since it looks as if it was ordered June 5 it could show up in November. However probably not if it stays a dealer order. It really needs to be changed! Actually, it could even be close to a VIN and retail should help that along.
I would have liked to order the spray in liner but everyone at the factory told me absolutely not! It causes delays. I know it sounds simple but most of that stuff is not done on the line. It goes to another shop I call it the "Fix It Shop" but it says "specialty shop" on the door (at Dearborn anyway)

One other thing you might not noticed in the earlier post. When it said the orders opened on May27th every dealer could place an order for 1 and only one per dealer. Seeing this order June 5th it is the one and only 1 they could order. However, before a VIN is issued changes can be made to an order. Have no idea if they changed the order but it is possible!
Because of this, dealers were asking crazy prices! If you were able to obtain this order for sticker you made a fantastic find!

Think I understand why they still had the 1 unit available after looking at the dealer's site.
They have advertised prices for 53k for 2023 rangers.... LOL most are dumping these outdated trucks. The first I have seen 12k over on a 2023. Some of these dealers are just nuts and think they can get away with just burning their customers.
Hate to see what they wanted for that 2024 that took them over 3 months to sale when even the 10k over ones were nab up!

I agreed to give them the 10K mark up for the 2024 RR. It appears that is standard practice in our area. I was at another dealer picking up a friend, while waiting I started to bs with one of the sales reps. He quoted me the same dealer mark up.
