I just wanted to show some pics for those who don't really know what the numbers mean when people talk about wheel offsets.

Our stock trucks are running +55 on the non raptor models. That means the wheel hub is towards the outside face of the wheel 55mm from center. So if you have an 8" wheel, you move 55mm towards the side.you can see and that is where the mounting face sits.

This pic is from a stock 18" xlt wheel showing the mounting face at the end of the tspe measure.

That face sits against the truck hub face. I don't have a pic of that surface because i missed taking that pic, oddly. That face is where the black spacer is sitting in this picture.

So when you buy new wheels, you meed to know your stock wheel offset and bore size, which is referred to as center bore diameter, centrr bore, or bore, as seen in the screen shot below.

The above screen shot also has your bolt pattern, another needed piece of info when buying wheels.

Our trucks, stock, run a 6x139.7 bolt pattern. People will also call it 6x5.5 but that is also what they call thr f150 size, which is 6x139 so make sure your possible wheels are 6x137.9.

So you now know that your truck comes with 6x137.9 bolt pattern and 55mm offset. Those are the main things that will keep your wheels fitting.

Next, is wheel diameter, which can be 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, etc. That is how big the wheel is from lip to lip, diagonally across the face. Our trucks come with 17 or 18 from the factory.

So now we are to comparison pics

25565/18 on the left and 265/65/17 on the right.

This is -10mm offset on an 8.5" wheel.

This 55mm on a stock width wheel. i believe 7.5 inch wide.

Stock wheel sticking out with a 25mm spacer. So only 30mm in reality (55-25).

I sold my takeoff Ranger wheels to a guy who wanted to put them on his older Tacoma. Offset worked (slightly more positive than stock, but fine), bolt pattern was the same, but they wouldn't clear his brakes (caveat - I wasn't there for the installation). What's that measurement called and how do you confirm the fitment in this regard? They were 17" wheels, so nothing super tight and I think his takeoffs were also 17". Is this a bore size issue?

You have to measure the brake outer max points and then the inner diameter of your wheels barrel (that part of the wheel is called the barrel)

This is great information for anyone looking to change their wheel/tire setup from something different than stock. It can get tricky with all the options available and clearance requirements. This is also why I made a dedicated thread on here for people to upload pictures of their non-stock wheels/tires for others to look at. I was hoping it would get stickied to the top, this should be as well. @mods

TMI for me, but a great summary for those that can understand.....all I would want to know is do the tires still sit inside the fender flares :) Personally while I understand why and unless you are off-roading, I think the tire sticking out look is just not for me regardless.
