We have a bad water leak on our front passenger floor when it rains. This is what I found, three holes in the rear RH cab seam just below the rear window. It appears that the robot failed to complete its job or had some sort of hiccup. Vehicle went back to dealer Monday, carpet is soaked along with floorpan. Truck has 2,000 easy miles on her. We have started the buy/back process with FoMoCo. There is a 2024 Ranger Lariat in Eugene OR. with the same problem that the dealer took back. Hope that Ford will make good on this problem, as far as I am concerned this is unacceptable on a new truck that should have been leak checked and inspected at the plant.

Maybe their body shop could repair it with Plexus structural adhesive that's used to bond metal, that will seal it up.
You said three holes are the other two the same general size?
Hope it works out to your best satisfaction.

Yes all 3 are about the same size. I hate to sound picky but this is supposed to be a solid seam done by a robot to perfection, water tight and blending in with the cab. I feel this should have been caught at the plant by quality control or at least found when the truck was water leak checked. We did not buy a $47,000 new truck to have it's cab repaired 2 months later. Not to mention needing new carpet, must and mold, possible wiring damage down the road. Please know I do thank you for your advise though. Sorry I am very upset about this. It took 5 months too get this truck, there should be nothing wrong with it.

Hold them accountable. Sadly they did not help me on my Lariat. Even when they offered to provide me a year of free service and I accepted they ghosted me in May and have never responded to my inquiries of how to utilize service.

I hear ya, you’re absolutely right in your feelings I would be upset also and am very picky about my vehicles as all of us here are.
If your satisfied with the truck in every other way maybe you give the repair process a shot with them replacing the damaged carpet and other interior pieces if it’s not done to your satisfaction then demand the buyback and stipulate to Ford or the Dealer your not giving up your rights In either case.
Again hope it works out to your benefit.
And I looked at those seams on mine and they’re ok,
also thanks for posting about it.

Been through a couple of hurricanes with my 2024 Lariat no issues. Hopefully just a robot hiccup.

All sorts of electrical alarm fails repeatedly. All caused by transmission surges, lurching, shifting issues. 70 days total in shop in the one year I had it. They replaced the pedal sensor, fuse box harness, fuse box, battery cable sensor, 4x4 controller, multiple various sensors, on and on and on, all warranty work thankfully. They never figured it out. I suspect they did not want to black out the transmission and replace. Finally offered to trade it. It was an awful experience and Ford Corporate said they would offer me a year of standard services for my trouble, and didn’t even follow thru on that, ghosted me

Dont go look at nissan trucks either. They have a very similar issue with bad seams and water getting inside.

I imagine if one was bored and checked the forums of all the trucks, you might find this dame issue though. Maybe not in the welds but maybe in the roof seam sealer or around the windshield/rear window.

Its unfortunate, and i would want to get a different truck too but if they did that sealer mentioned above and the interior parts that got wet were replaced and interior properly dried, they could probably resell the truck with no further problems.

I also have no leaks on my 24 stx, thankfully. I hope you are able to get whatever fix is satisfactory and fast
