I have the "RealTruck BAK Revolver X4s Hard Rolling Truck Bed Tonneau Cover" and it has worked very well for me. It is not completely water tight, and when it goes through the car wash there are some drops that get inside. But even during heavy rain it has kept most of the water out. Installation was relatively easy and straightforward, even doing it alone. The one thing that I notice is that in terms of dust, there is a lot that gets inside, but I think it is more from the gaps between the tailgate and the bed than anything else.

I've got a Real Trucks Bak Revolver X4 and it absolutely leaks water like a sieve.

But I'm covered for dust as my seal kit works like a treat.

Thanks for your feedback. What seal kit did you use? I will definitely get it on mind if you say it takes care of the dust.

1 hour extensive pressure wash resulted in this amount of water. All of the water seems to be coming in through the front bed voids. I just installed the digital twin tailgate seal kit.

Sorry I wasn't following your posts - which cover is that?

I use the same seal kit as @jacksdad is using ^^^ and it works a treat.
But full disclosure: I am the one who designed it so of course I'm going to say that.

@jacksdad pleased to see it is working well for you.

I just purchased and installed a TruXedo TruXport (gen 2). It's not exactly what I wanted--I had a BAK Revolver on my last truck and wanted another hard cover. But I just couldn't stomach the $1300+ for a hard rolling or even the $800+ for a hard tri fold. So I decided to go with the soft rolling option for $300. They seem to have sold a metric shit-ton of these TruXports, and the reviews are generally good, so I figured it was worth a shot.

I've only had it installed for a few days now, so not at all battle-tested yet. We had one serious rain storm one night and there was some water in the rear of the bed in the corners. It's not entirely the cover's fault--the tailgate has a massive gap right there. I'll just keep it in mind when putting anything back there that has to stay 100% dry.

I'm not crazy about the fit against the top of the tailgate. There's a good size gap between the cover and the tailgate. I'm pretty sure it's designed that way, and not my lousy installation skills. The cover does have a soft rubber piece across the back (not a seal, more like a "skirt" that hangs down) that will minimize water, but it definitely won't eliminate it.

Hopefully the pics will help with anyone considering this option.

The Leer 650 in my opinion is the best one out there for a folding hard cover. Two plus items is NO drain tubes, and pinch locks rather than cables anyone can get in with a coat hanger. I have had the Bak flip, its ok, but the Leer 650 is way better.
I have a Bak Flip and it leaks like crazy. Not only is Ford's bed design flawed to allow water in with no easy way to stop it, but the Bak Flip is also a flawed design. For instance, the hold down clamps for the Ranger 2024 XLT are set back from the front of the cover so when you tighten them down, the very front does not close the gap and provides ample opportunity for water to leak into the bed. I would NOT buy a bak flip for a 2024 Ranger XLT.

The 6g ranger bed and tailgate design is easily one of the worst of the 21st century.

Why? I have no issues with it. Standard truck bed.

My LOMAX keeps like 95% water out and I live in New England with all sorts of weather. Only time it actually gets water is with one of those fancy new car washes.

Agree. The lead design engineer or VP that approved the design should be fired.

Ford's bed is fine. It's up to the aftermarket companies to design a cover that keeps water out. It's not Ford's responsibility to design a vehicle that accommodates aftermarket parts. But rather than design one specific to Rangers, it's easier to design a generic style that fits on most trucks this size with minimal changes. If any cover leaks on a Ranger, you can almost guarantee it will leak on other makes, especially at the tailgate or bulkhead.

The ranger bed is not fine. It’s hot garbage. It has voids that cannot be sealed without serious effort, if at all. It is beyond the duty of a tonneau cover to seal a void below the bed rail.

No, but it is Ford's responsibility to understand their customer base. Just look at how many Ford Rangers (or any truck for that matter) that actually have options installed that would use ANY of the 29 holes per side of the rail caps versus how many owners have bed covers. For should NEVER have designed something for such a miniscule customer base. There are clearly way more users with covers than there are with all other accessories combined. It's a huge faux pas on Ford's part.
