Weird rod moving & making grinding/screech sound under hood

Hey all, it’s my first post so I hope I’m posting in the right area and not breaking any rules.

I recently bought a 2024 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 and we’ve been noticing this weird sound coming from under the hood after cranking the engine, it’s this little rod moving back & forth we have no idea what it is because we’re car noobs. Video and pics attached, any help would be awesome, thanks for your time… pls don’t troll me…

did it move? i couldn't hear it on the video so i don't know but you cand take it back to the dealer ask them about it. i have no idea whats what on the these ecoboost engines because i haven't worked on them alot

Looks like the turbocharger waist gate actuator (servo). Are there any drivability problems with your vehicle? The rod moves a bit when you start the vehicle this is normal. If you are concerned with the noise that is actually a little rough take it to your dealer.

Thanks guys, no drivability issues so far. I took her off-roading in George Washington National Forest went pretty hard under some power lines, 30% incline, rock climbing, dirt/mud all in 4L everything was fine… still weird. Also a lot of AC condensation under the vehicle while parked, anybody else have that?

Dude, it def is the turbocharger wastegate actuator… thanks man… I gotta get this checked out. Sounds so nasty.

Don't take it to a dealer, they will say it's normal. The 5G 2.3 did that when you opened the driver's door even without starting the engine. It was just a pre-start test or something like that.

Did you get this resolved? Is it just normal turbo wastegate operation?
