What does this bar above the infotainment do?

Hey guys. Genuinely curious here! My old Subaru utilized this bar to show some data and such. I see on the right hand side it shows airbag status, but what is the purpose for the remainder of this big bar above the infotainment? Wasn't sure if other lights/alerts were under there? Or if it was some sort of light sensor?

Manual didn't seem to say anything about it...

That is the only thing that's on it. On Lariat and Raptor because it has the upgrade stereo the center speaker is under that.
I see your's doesn't have any holes in it so no speaker.

I saw someone had produced a RANGER or RAPTOR decal that fits in that space. I think others might have used it for micro switches.

And it allows heat to escape from the center screen at the small vent in front fo the screen, I feel like someone found out in the past
