I looked at all the midsize trucks before buying the Ford Ranger raptor, here a few of my thoughts about the competition from the Toyota, jeep, Chevy, in the end i landed on the Ford Ranger raptor.

It's hard to beat a Ranger Raptor, especially comparing like for like feature with the competition.

Even if you would get away from price as driving factor, you still can't ignore the power and performance differences seen between all the competition compared to the Ranger Raptor.
None of the competition is even close in the engine performance stats.

If you ignore the performance and the price still the Ranger Raptor outshines the others in other areas like comfort. The seats in the Colorado are hard as rock, the suspension in the competition is also a bit less plush than the live valve Fox shocks in the Ranger Raptor.

That is my 2 Cents and I am sticking to it. LOL

PS. The Ranger Raptor is by far the best-looking truck of the lot too. LOL

Completely opinionated reply to this topic... I came from a 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 to the RR. I couldn't stand the 2.7 Turbomax engine. Too whiney and didnt have enough punch for me. Driving experience and features comparing the 2, RR is much better. I never considered the gladiator, not a jeep fan. I did price out a taco, but the 3.0 engine and the performance capabilities with a tune made me not even go test drive one.

The only Gladiator that interest me at all, has yet to officially get released and that would be a 392 Gladiator.

I would love to see V8 midsize trucks return to the market. Regardless of brand, it would perk my interest for sure.

I didnt watch since not all the brands were compared. No point in doing a comparison if you leave the frontier pro4x out.

I did think about that as I wrote my reply. I wrote it off fairly quickly when I was shopping due to the old v6 platform. Do you think that engine option in comparison helps or hurts the frontier in a mid-size comparison?

Of the 2 Japanese brands I think I would buy a Nissan over the Toyota.
The whole turbo 4 banger is just a non starter for me.

ā€˜But honestly if those were the only mid size trucks on the market , or say the Ranger didn’t exist here in the states, I would simply still have a full size 1/2 ton truck in the garage.
I had a GMC AT4X and a TRX prior to the RRs.

The Ranger Raptor is what got me intersted in a mid size trucks again.

I like their new engine. What killed me on the frontier is after market support and lifting them.

The older frontier i had was a pain to lift because of suspension angles amd my 2017 titan was the same so i assumed the new frontier was the same. Keeping an eye on the forums showed i correct.

And their new tramsmissions are a pain to do work on. Even my 7 speed in my 17 made me just take it to the dealer for fluid changes since it was a mercedes designed trans and the drain fill process just looked to easy to mess up. And no one makes after market dipstick kits for frontiers like that dude that does the ranger 10r80, and gopefullt also our 10r60, soon.

Engine wise, and other then what i mentioned, the frontier gave a lot of opti9ns for the price. Even the base model had the v6 and 9 speed woth 310, or whatever hp, and you could tell when you floored it. The truck was quick.

I actually got rid of my titan because of the size. If the nrw ranger hadn't come out, i would have gotten a maverick or possibly a frontier. My father in law and i looked at them and he asked me which one i thought he should get. I told him about the lack of aftermakret stuff for the frontier or he would have a pro4x instead of an xlt ranger. He like the frontier too

Never been in a new Frontier, but with the Titans I use to have in my business fleet 2017+, well I do still have 1 of 14 Titans still in the fleet, One of the best features I found true in all the recent Nissans I have been in is that all the Nissan had really comfortable seats.

Had an '06 Frontier for 11.5 years and 165k miles. I really liked it--4x4, v6, and 6-speed manual.

Technology wise, it had good balance.

One man’s opinion! The new Titan is not the most attractive body style. You don’t see many of them on the road up here, the Frontier is better but I believe Nissan is a dying brand.

Just FYI.
Titan was discontinued at the end of the 2024 model year.
ā€˜Nissan only truck is now the Frontier. .

I think it’s strongest sales year was 2017, numbers fell off a cliff from there till it was discontinued summer 2024.
