I got an email today that my order for the Ranger Raptor load box reinforcement kit was canceled!

Months ago I had put myself on the list to be informed when it became available. On May 3rd, I got the email "we've restocked" and immediately placed my order. I called today and they told me it is no longer available.

I am pretty torqued! They had a design flaw, came up with a solution, and now I can't get it!!

I think Ford should be paying for the j braces and installation. I see people saying this wasn't an engineering mistake on Fords part. If it wasn't a mistake why did they correct it on later model 2024's and all 2025's

I have seen a Ford rep chime in on some of the mod posts, I would like to see the response to this one.

Ford reps no longer follow this site regularly. They posted and stated that.

As to the Ford J Brace availability, I made an appointment for this Thursday with the local dealer to have the kit installed. When they called to confirm and stated that Ford would not cover the cost, they told me that the total cost would be $910! … I cancelled the appointment, then went to the dealer and bought the kit (saved $20 by showing an online discounted price). For the $750 dealer labor cost, I’ll install it myself.

So my suggestion would be to ask the dealer if they have the kit.

I share your frustration. After being told I’d have to wait until Ford provided the parts to have it done under CSP, I went to another dealership. I was able to convince them to install the Ford J-Braces I had purchased. I left my truck for the appointment. I get a call from the service advisor at the end of the day telling they were not giving you be able to install because they didn’t have clearance from Ford Engineering. The J-Braces were only cleared if I was using a bed cap and not a bed cover. Even if I offered to pay for it myself, they said they were not going to risk having liability because the installation wasn’t for this application. They said call Ford Recall Department and talk to them to get clearance. So bottom line, it didn’t matter whether it was a warranty or self pay, they won’t install it. I’d be curious to hear if anyone else got the same BS excuse.

I have an OEM one I could sell you if you are in need. I bought it for a customer of mine but it turns out his truck didn't need it.

Thanks guys. I ordered from Levittown Ford Parts already. Based on a few other threads from last year. We will see if they can produce a set.

If not, I will be in touch. :)

Same issue non-raptor. I ordered it, got it canceled a month later. Was still on the website showing instock, re-ordered, a month later, canceled again. Now its no longer on the website for sale.

Weird how they have a problem but stopped selling the parts to correct it. I'm disappointed in Ford. since its a potential issue and they've corrected it mid last year and on all new models being made.

You sure your 24 rr falls in the date range that needs it?

The cutoff date was sometime August 13, '24. Trucks built after that date don't need them as are already installed at assy or the load box was redesigned to not need them.

" PLEASE NOTE: This kit is NOT required for vehicles built on or after 9/13/2024. "
