Glad you found and fixed it. Things like that can drive you nuts.

Dude, that would have drove me crazy! Good job not giving up. So where was it located? Looks like the aux switch panel?
It was back behind the overhead console.
forward of the sunglasses holder.

Once I had it popped loose the screw fell into the floorboard.
After I saw right where it went so I screwed it back in popped the console back up into place.
Took all of about 5 min, once I figured out how that console came out of the headliner.

I probably would have been more motivated to find it sooner, but since I have other vehicles, I was guilty of parking Trigger a few times for days at a time and drove something else because it was driving me crazy. LOL Trigger ( AKA 2024 RR) is my go to daily, normally it is just my overall favorite but that rattle was really trying my patients with it. I was even guilty a couple of times of looking to see if that white 25 model was still at my local dealer. LOL

The RRs in general are my favorites in the stable and having 3 of them does have it's advantages at times. LOL 😁

How things like this go for me: 45 minutes on youtube figuring out how to get to/access something and 5 minutes actually doing it. 30 minutes drinking a cold one to celebrate a job well done. 🤣

Dumb question, but how did you get the console out? I want to just pry it out, but don't want to risk breaking something. I'm certain I have the same screw problem. It's rolling around between the sunglasses and the lights.

Mine happened at the end of an automatic car wash when the super blow dryer blasted the windshield. Maybe it was just coincidence but as Jack Reacher said, "coincidences are rare". Thanks.

It's been a while, I want to say it was some tabs on the side of the sunglass door that allow it to drop down and gain access. Least that how I am remembering it.

I think that is how it went.

Never mind, I must have been thinking about how the glove box came out to access the start stop plug in.

Looking at my pics in that earlier post I am thinking that must have been a pry it down sort of thing.

Appreciate the help and quick reply. If it was older, I'd be more likely to "try things".

Ok, check this video out.
He shows removing the roof console to drop the roof for adding sound deading material.
I am thinking I used this video to figure out how it came apart when I did mine.

For anyone who's having the "screw loose" problem in the upper console. The beginning of the video is helpful and Yes--quick and easy. Two clips facing the back of the cabin, 2 mid-way on the sides. They seem pretty solid, so not a real concern on breaking them (that was my primary concern), then it just comes down. I'd recommend a wider trim tool for leverage. From what I can tell, the screw holes are stripped, so I'm thinking I'll have to do this again and apply some Loc-tite to resolve forever. Appreciate cc1999 and the community for the quick assistance. Looking forward to a quiet ride :). In case it matters for "compatibility", mine is a 25 Ranger STX. These screw heads are T20.
