While I have ZERO intention of downgrading to a Tremor from my Raptor, I do think it's cool for them to offer a Tremor or Tremor-esque package for the Ranger. I can see the purpose, to preserve the full payload / towing, but offer additional trail capability over the FX4.

The raptor isn't a trail truck even though it's very capable there. It's a high-speed runner, meant for terrain you would drive something like a UTV on (dunes, desert, dirt roads, rally etc.) at higher speeds, kind of like a muscle car, but packaged into an off-road truck.

The Mid-sized trucks of today basically offer 90% of the capability of full-sized trucks in the 90's / early 2k in terms of payload / towing, but far better powertrains, interiors and creature comforts, not to mention massive upgrades in styling inside and out.

I'm of the opinion that some of the OE's are realizing there's a substantial market for people who don't need the capability / cost / size of an F-150 but maybe needed something more utilitarian than an Explorer or Maverick, both of which I think are also great vehicles for their intended purpose, but a bit light on utilitarian aspects. Enter the Ranger. Similar rear seating to an Explorer / Maverick, but has a decent size bed that's very practical, can tow 7,500 (sans Raptor), 4x4, nice interior, premium audio, climate etc.

It's great to see an American company really capturing the truck / SUV market again as it seems to be America's choice type of vehicle overall. Sedan's / compacts and full-sized cars probably won't ever disappear, but they seem to have become a smaller sub-set now with the big improvements in overall comfort / quality of trucks / SUVs, also the gas mileage is more palatable than two decades ago. Some mid-sized trucks / SUV's get mileage similar to what a V6 large sedan would get 20 years ago.

Get what you want / fits your needs / budget! For some people, that might actually be an upgrade, but I think cost wise, if you already own a 6g Ranger in any trim, it probably doesn't make any financial sense to trade it in just for the Tremor option in otherwise the same truck gen (maybe if you have a 5g ranger with a finnicky 10R80 that would make sense), plus the aftermarket for the Ranger is decent now and growing.

I wonder where the price point sits.
A Lariat with the 2.7 and FX4 package is only about 3K less than base Raptor.
If it comes out to be more than that, just spring for a Raptor. Sure, you lose a little towing and payload, but that's not why people buy Ranger Raptors.

That really is the question isn't it? How is Ford going to fit this into an already tight price point in the Ranger lineup. My guess is it will land somewhere between a nicely equipped XLT and a Lariat but we shall see.

I just bought my truck 4 months ago. It’s a 25 xlt. I buy a vehicle with the assumption that I’ll have it for at least ten years. I researched trim options, cost of diy upgrades, vehicle cost and weighed them against my vehicle needs and wants.
So in short, I don’t care what features a tremor model has to offer. I wouldn’t even consider it. If someone else wants to, then more power to them. Their money and their choice. I’ll wait and see what Ford has to offer in 2035 or 2036.
Same here brother. Ordered what I needed, added the options I wanted and started adding some of the never ending finishing touches. 3.5mo of driving it I’m happy and not looking again for at least a decade 👍🏻

I think if you already have a Ranger, then buying a Tremor is probably silly. It should give new buyers another option that fits their needs though, especially if they want an out of the box solution and don't want to do any upgrades themselves.

The international Tremor is just a base model +3k package with shocks, wheel/tires, copilot 360, bash plate, and a grill with offroad lights. This is likely going to end up as a $3000 package for the XL/XLT with 2.3 engines, kinda like a FX4+

It also includes full time 4x4 in global markets.

It definitely looked like it. Taller stance and wider tires were on this truck

I’m hoping it ends up arriving in North America as this, but with a 2.7. If so, I’ll be buying one.
