How do you attach the rear camera inside the cab by the rear window? The bracket orientation seems to be off.

Mounting it inside the cab will require creative thinking. I ordered a generic bracket for rear dash cams off a different site. That's what I used on my previous dash cam since I didn't want to use the traditional method of applying 3M adhesive tape directly to the window.

Really any thin malleable metal bracket should work, just have to bend it in such a way to wedge between the headliner. The camera is light enough it should stay in place without issue.

Can you describe the process of adding the parts from Amazon and Takform to the XLT, please? I reached out to Wolfbox and their suggestion was to glue the little disc on the windshield and mount the OEM arm to that

Sure!

I ordered the rear bracket from here.

As for the install, I will attach the camera similar to my previous camera as shown in this post. I'll use the 3M tape to attach the new dash cam bracket to the Wolfbox bracket. I'll have to bend and reshape the new bracket a bit to get the fit adjusted how I want but should be easy enough.

Thoughts on mounting the rear view camera here? My OCD would prefer it centered on the rear brake light but the connector won’t fit in the channel. Obviously, I am not going to use foam tape and I think I might use a few dabs of clear silicone in the channel

I decided to mount the rear camera down by the license plate. I can always move it if I want to, but this view is similar to what you see in a standard rear view mirror. Also, it gives me a view behind me when the tailgate is down. I mounted it with 3m tape and half the bracket is behind the license plate frame. Also, the thickness of the frame is almost exactly the depth of the camera on the bracket.

I mounted mine centred in the tailgate handle… gives me a raised and unobstructed view of what’s behind me compared to plate or lower level mounting, and looks factory (to a point). Has never got in the way, and as I have a load lid with bike racks on it, I never lose the view when the bikes are on.

Thank you for the information. One last question. With the mirror mount and then adding the 2" arm, do you feel it brings the mirror too close to you?
