mostly agree, except with the “maybe I should have gone for the Tacoma”.

do yourself a favour and go hang out in the Taco forum a while - you’ll soon be happier with your decision to buy the Ranger. Some serious probs with the trannies on the new Taco, amongst other quality issues
That applies to all vehicle forums, even Ranger 5G where there are people there that adamantly believe that the 5G transmission will fail on all 5G Rangers before 100K, despite there being 10s of millions of F150, Mustang, Explorers and Rangers with the 10R80. Are there problems with the 10R80? Yes, but despite the rants on forums, the percentages are small.
Most people don't to go on forums to praise their vehicles, but to search for solutions to problems, meaning it's a biased platform to begin with.

I have that issue with the cab weld on the passenger side below the rear window. Even has some areas paint bubbled and popped leaving pinholes. Driver’s side is smooth.
Yeah all the driver sides are smooth and the right sides welds are not as smooth. My 2.7 Lariat Sport came in that I order I did not want to wait and bought a Raptor. Went to look at it and it looks like they fixed that issue on job 2 it now looks as smooth as the driver side on the weld seam. Overall it looks better on the paint quality than my Raptor so maybe they improved it, it was a mid August build. If anybody is interest in a loaded 2.7 V6 carbonized gray Lariat Sport loaded with every option PM me, side steps, bed steps and FX4 every option available they will sell at Xplan too.

Also there was not seat belt problem with my truck it was user error. There was not seat belt problem with my truck they were trying to put it in the wrong buckle. The seat buckles are different on each buckle. The belts only work with the buckle its alined too. Right buckle only works with right belt and will not click into to center Buckle like the old cars use to do. Found that out had someone in the back seat who could not buckle the belt. She was putting it into the wrong buckle the center which is real close to the right side buckle will not work with right side belt. When someone is seating on the right side the right buckle is easily missed and they may be trying to use the center buckle which will not work with the right side belt. Just a thought thats what I ran into so my buckle was not the problem it was user error.

Yes, I understand that. And if it's like on the 5G forum, after 3 or 4 reported failures on 6G there will be some people here that thinks all 6G trans will fail before 100k.

I agree with you and there are no statistics that support mass trans failure.
The 10 speed had a few programing issues in the beginning but has had a good record as late.
It does take some miles to learn one's driving habits.

I've always bought Ford vehicles. Never even considered anything else. It's very rare that that I have ever had to have warranty work done on one. Well, my new Ranger XLT is beginning to be something of a disappointment. I've only put 200 miles on it and already things are popping up that are causing concern.

1. The center display is glitchy. Sometimes it just won't come on and others it comes on but won't get past the startup screen. I can shut the truck down completely and it will correct the problem.
2.I get a "collision avoidance not available" warning on the DIC. This is intermittent. The windshield is clean.
3. I get a "adaptive cruise control module is blocked" warning. It came with a front license plate holder and I'm
wondering if this is on upside down.
4. A back seat seat belt will not lock in. Don't they test these? You would think so.
5. The fuel door keeps popping open going down the road.

Some of these may be nit picking and some are serious safety issues. Maybe I should have gone with the Tacoma. But I've always been a Ford guy. We'll see what happens when I take it in for repairs. But I can hear it now. "We couldn't recreate the problem" so............ I hear people with that problem all the time.
Rant over......carry on.
And they can't carry more than 88lbs on the bed rails, plus mine got cracks at the spot welds on the bed floor after 2 weeks when I had carried one light load protected by 2 layers of tarp.

Sorry to hear that and I hope they are able to get those fixed. Those a slew of problems that never should have made it past a QC check.

I am a first time Ford buyer and purchased a Ranger Raptor in June and it has been in the shop since July 30th with a failed instrument cluster, so I feel your pain. No idea when it is going to be able to fixed or what Ford is going to do take care of me. Its been a mess dealing with Customer Support to say the least.
