I got the 6yr/100k (I put on a lot of miles). It seems to be priced the same for all 2024 Rangers and with Raptor parts being much more expensive to replace it seems like a no brainer. One front shock is almost $1400 for example which is more than I am paying for the warranty.
Are shocks are covered for the entirety of the ESP?

It gets confusing when reading thru the ESP.
Section 7 lists what is not covered.

Definitely weird that they wouldn't cover Macpherson struts, but we should be fine on the Ranger, since its double wishbone in the front.

That statement says they will cover MacPherson struts, but not coil over shocks.
And it's in the part of What is Covered for front suspension:

Are you mixing up language from the service plan and the extended warranty?

Premiumcare Extended warranty - Doesn't cover the shock absorber, unless its a Macpherson strut. (Ranger doesn't have Macpherson struts). Struts won't be covered by warranty.
Service Plan - Covers the shocks/struts in the Ranger.

In something like a Mustang the front suspension would be covered by the warranty and not the service plan.

I'm going to wait till closer till the 3 year warranty runs out before I make my decision.

I'd like to get the Ford Performance tune, but I also want to see some trucks with higher mileage out in the wild, and what sorts of issues they do or don't encounter.

I'm extremely wary of the ecoboost engine's longevity and cost to repair. Nothing in that engine bay looks like it's easy to get to.

Mustangs and have had the 2.3L Eco since 2014, and the 10 speed since 2018.
F150s have the 2.7 since 2015, the 10 speed since 2017. It's not as big as a problem that people assume it is. But when they do, OH Boy!
