Did a run through Chidago canyon and Mt Casa Diablo to Crowley lake. My Gen6, one '88 F 150, one Tacoma and 6 Wranglers or Rubicons. I could use maybe a 1 inch lift from stock Gen6 and more aggresive wheels. I went where they did and just as well. 2.3 FX4 XLT. Chidago wasn't too tough. Mt Casa Diablo had some steep pitches and a few rocks.

Just info: Rubicon is a trim level of wranglers. Its like the off road version of a wrangler. Different axles, different case, and sway bars that can be disconnected from the driver seat. They have a hair taller suspension (1") and 33s instead of 31s (sport trim come with) or 32s (willys, Sahara, and others that are not sport or rubicon).

But I totally bet your fx4 kept up easily. The whole point of a wranglers manuevability is the short wheel base of the 2 door models so the 4 doors are exactly like taking a mid-size truck.

I am the only ranger in my household. The wife and kids all have wranglers.

Actually even the 4 door Wrangler has a much shorter wheelbase than a mid-size truck like the Ranger. A 4 door Wrangler's wheelbase is more than 10 inches shorter than the Ranger.

My 2 door Wrangler excels at certain things like narrow trails with hairpin turns, short and steep ravine and river crossings and easy parking anywhere in town while my Ranger excels at other things, like soft beach sand, comfortable highway driving and carrying stuff. So you really need both!

I will have to remember and see what the bumper to bumper difference is, versus the wheel base. My wife's 2019 four door wrangler and my ranger are next to each other everyday so it will be easy to compare.

Her jeep turns waaaaayyyyy better. The turning radius is so small on the 4 door compared to mid size trucks but not compared to the 2 door wrangler

I just traded in my 2017 Wrangler Rubicon for the Ranger Raptor. The Wrangler fit in my garage easily. The Raptor barely fits, and we had to move a bunch of stuff around to make it work. The Raptor is *much* longer than the 4 door Wrangler.

Like 19 inches, I need to move a bunch of stuff around also, I have 1-2 inches of clearance front and back with the Ranger while the old 4 door Wrangler fit easily.
