Is driving slower not an option to increase that reaction time?
There is literally nothing in this world that will prevent a deer collision. These are the dumbest animals on the planet and they basically live to get injured. You could have automatic laser guided heat vision Ai controlled laser guns with sharks on them and deer will still make it through and fuck your shit up.

Headlights only help when the deer are on the road, which is about 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time they are on the other side of the road and act as living meat ballistic missiles to your car. They will jump into the side of your car for no reason.

Living in deer areas sucks. When I was learning to drive it was made very clear that one day it will just happen, it will be sudden, and there will be nothing you can do. you are told not to swerve and just plow that thing over, because swerving ends up causing a worse wreck then just creating venison.

It has nothing to do with how fast you are going. You could be parked and the stupid things will just decide to slam into you.

I feel like my driver's light is a little low, but also don't want to blind anyone. The high beams are as bright as I'd ever want.

Agreed. That's why I don't get the other guy complaining that he's assuredly going to hit a deer because of these headlights. The only thing you can control is your visibility which is determined by your speed and lights.

Saying this as a guy that was raised in Southeast deer country and now lives in Colorado with deer, elk, etc on the roads after dark. I've hit a few and I'd never blame my truck's lights.

Because I don't think it's normal to not be able to see a deer on the shoulder at 75 feet.
The first morning with the truck I ran up on 2 deer standing on the edge of the road, the auto headlights dimmed the lights because of a security light in the distance and the deer disappeared, I wouldn't have seen them if they stepped into the road.
My insurance doubled when I got the new truck, I don't need to make a claim anytime soon.

Does your left light shine across the road onto the right shoulder?
Mine is a hot spot with the right side on the right side of the lane.
Mine does the same, are you aware of a easy adjustment fix, short of going to the dealer service?
