Xlt multiple issue under 500miles

  • Apon cold start up white smoke very noticeable from exhaust, not effected from outside temperature.
  • Fuel economy seems poor so far, under 500 mile and best is 18.3 mpg.
  • Apon turning into inclined driveway or declined drive way with or without out wheel turned to lock out front end clunck is audible.
  • Transmition shift point are erratic at times. With this 10 speed it seems to always looking for a higher gear and has engagement and disengagement of gears in noticeable. 2 nd to 3 rd. 3 rd to 2 nd seems to have an issue at times I find vehicle in 8th gear at 25 mph flat road, normal acceleration.
  • Large center screen would not turn on everything else worked fine drove to work about 5 miles screen stayed black. Parked went to work 8 hours latter everything worked fine.
  • Also on June 29th went into store parked truck locked truck went I side approximately 15 minutes apon start up cluster produced to following errors.

Abs light on and stayed on at miles 457.6. I turned off vehicle, got out walked around the truck locked the doors waited a few minutes unlocked re started truck and messages repeated. I turned off and on and it went away included the Abs light. This has only happened this one incident. Drove home all seemed well. Codes are present C1A95 and C003A I did not erase just viewed.

Interesting. At delivery of my XL for about 10 days after, I had an occasional every other day brief message about pre-collision camera being offline and the same other cascading ABS and traction control errors. It lasted maybe 30 seconds and everything came back online and worked normal

I had the same C1A95 and C003A codes for the right rear ABS sensor with generic OBDII data but also had the code for the pre-collision camera that can only be brought up with a higher level scan tool. Basically everything has been fine the last 2-3 weeks so I do not know if there was a learning curve for the pre-collision camera or something else?

The white smoke on startup and the center screen blanking is something else though I do not have.

I will also say that now at 1500+ miles, the transmission shifting has gotten way better on mine and is seamless now. I would not rule out the transmission being an issue just yet until you get the first 1K miles on it for the adaptive learning to set in.

I would still recommend a dealership warranty visit for the white smoke on startup issue and center display blanking.

Assumed the Trans was still learning shift points, I did a quick check didn't see anything loose on suspension I did not check steering components who knows. Gonna make a appt mo day hope they can look at it asap but it's a holiday week who knows how long this will sit at dealer

White smoke? That's the exhaust burning water. If it's constant, you have a blown head gasket or cracked head letting coolant into the combustion chamber.

Well dealer needs an wheels sensor for right rear,part was revised and bot available so will have to bring it back when it is.

The cluncking front end they haven't figured out yet.

And the Trans " still learning mode" which I understand.

The white smoke in exhuast on cold start and poor fuel economy not addressed as they can not replicate or find any codes for.


Question I got a phone call prior to all this from ford like a customer care see how everything is going call. I called that number back and told them issues,they said to bring to dealer asap any dealer. I originally went to one close to my job not my purchasing dealer ed amd service manager told me he would not touch the truck because it was to new with to many problems and told me to go to purchasing dealer. And it is bow at that dealer just a he'll of a lot more out of the way. Is that a true statement must go to selling dealer.

Pretty sure I found front end clunk this isolated bolt for the rack and pinion slaps into mount this bolt is tight but still make steel to steel contact. Back to the dealer when wheel senser comes available they can adress both
