I bought a setup of Kings Springs for the rear R121. They are supposed to handle up to 300 lbs and increase height about 20-25mm, about an inch. Once installed with my 210 lbs canopy, 270 awning,
50 lbs, and ski racks about 30 lbs.

The rear sits over 40 1/2 inch from the ground and about 3 1/4 higher than the front stock springs.

The ride was harsher in the beginning and now seems to calm down. It now doesn’t have the nice floaty, swaying ride which i missed but with only the rear springs seems to be ok not so bad. I am waiting for the front to arrive soon and will post after I install and have some miles on them.

Here are some photos for reference.

Have a nice day everyone!

Nice, how do you like your Openroad awning? I took advantage of an Easter $200 off sale and ordered one last week, for the Passenger side. How long have you had it, any issues? It appears to be mounted pretty far towards the rear, does your hatch hit? I would love to see some extended awning pics. Thanks.

Hello John Davies:
I mounted towards rearward so i can get more coverage in the back. Also if you see its mounted on crossbars which are not so strong compare to platform rack.
I am thinking adding a rack on the truck for more load carrying and may install the third bracket if i can get them to line up level.

The awning deploy easily but the closing need more time and folding properly.

i got them on sale with side walls for $500 off.

Enjoy yours

cheers

I love the idea, but am I missing something? With + 300LB springs and adding almost 500 pounds, all in the back, I would think it should sit a little lower than stock and ride about as soft.

handle up to 300 lbs
You said these springs can handle up to 300 lbs. Does that mean if a trailer hitch weight is 350lbs. those springs can't handle it? or does it mean 300 lbs X 2 so it can handle a 600 lbs hitch weight? Thanks

AugPal:
I was told they can handle 400 lbs. with 20-25mm over stock height. I am not sure about the trailer 350 lbs. alone plus content. Maybe you can reach out to them.

For my purpose is to keep the truck as light as possible with canopy, awning and some stuff so I want to keep less lb. springs. You can also use airbags to adjust as needed with your loads. I think the regular Ranger, not the Raptor which i own will be a better choice.

BTW, my front springs arriving today but.... I have no time to install since I am driving out of state tomorrow

How many miles are on your Raptor? A light bar and minor CoG shift shouldn’t be enough to cause 1.3" of front sag.

Our trucks are known to have relatively soft front springs, and they can lose rate pretty quickly under load. Perhaps premature metal fatigue??

I dunno E40. I have little over 10k miles since i bought my 2025 Raptor in Dec 2025. No bull bar just 40-inch light bar mounted inside the front grill.
The canopy+270 Awning +Thule 6 ski rack+ Yakima Exo hitch without any attachments. Please nothing more than 30 lbs. inside the Truck bed.

The rear is jacked up too much for the weight I want to carry. I don't want to load up cos the truck drive like a truck now. I don't have the lively, springy feel when stock.

I have my eye on Dobinson Springs which is supposed to handle 175 to 200 Lbs. load and lower back to stock ride height.

After my try to Raptor School in Utah, I can install the King front springs and see how harsh the ride. I plan to get a guy to do the forscan to reset fox shocks to fool the system this is stock height and see if ride better

Its not front end sag - You’re oversprung in the rear causing the noise to point downwards.

I think so too donkey. Any suggestions?
I think chagpt says go for the king springs in the front and changed to Dobinson softer springs. The stock springs is too soft for my weight or cut the weight

I would raise the front up 1.5” with a spacer lift, then add a little weight in the back to help settle the springs a bit.

Or, pull springs and just add 1.5” front and rear. You’ll be slightly under sprung in the rear, but it won’t be terrible.

Thanks donkey. So many different ways and totally confused.
spacer lift, perch collar, springs height-spring rates for the front.
spacer lift, perch collar, spring height-spring rates and airbags

I already got the kings front springs delivered today so I stick them in and drive for awhile. To use other ways for the front spacers costs more money. If it lift to the rake ratio close to stock and not too stiff. It may solve the “ look issue “ I still need to solve the spring rates or stiffness issue. As you said, add weight to the back, or put the stock springs back and let the low rider dictate

cheers
