Thanks donkey. So many different ways and totally confused.
spacer lift, perch collar, springs height-spring rates for the front.
spacer lift, perch collar, spring height-spring rates and airbags

I already got the kings front springs delivered today so I stick them in and drive for awhile. To use other ways for the front spacers costs more money. If it lift to the rake ratio close to stock and not too stiff. It may solve the “ look issue “ I still need to solve the spring rates or stiffness issue. As you said, add weight to the back, or put the stock springs back and let the low rider dictate

cheers
Trial and error!

i wonder if you would have been better off with an fx4 regular ranger? so the back held more weight without all the changes?

i wanted a ranger raptor, really bad. then i drove one and see now i would be happier with an stx or xlt with the 2.7 and 4x4. i would actually be perfectly fine in the truck i have if it was 4x4 and had heated seats but heated seats don;t come in the stx and it would be hard to add 4x4 to mine.

i am keeping mine for a while though. to many mods to get rid of it anytime soon, ha ha ha, because i would have to do them all again on the next truck

Superj i wanted a Raptor because of the engine and live fox suspension but i also wanted some stuff on it. I have seen some with more weight than mine but i have no idea how they drive and ride.

i suppose you are right the vehicle was not designed for this.

since i have it, i will try to balance the weight and the suspension mods to make a better compromise.

i agree with donkey that i am over sprung so i think i can reduce the stiffer springs with something softer and maybe shorter.

thx for your valuable input

yeah, that engine is impressive. i wish we could get it in a model lower than a raptor, or with the heavier rear suspension from the regular trucks. or maybe they will put it in a lobo ranger :)

My ranger performed flawlessly in high speed Utah trails with about 600-700 pounds of stuffs in the truck bed. But, it constantly dragged its belly in Colorado's rocky mountain trails. As a reference, my 4runner with 2" lift and 33" would've cleared the same trails w/o touching its skids, sliders, or rear diff. Hence, I'm looking forward to add some lift and upsize tires.

The Dobinson springs (+200 lbs and OEM ride height) sounds interesting! Couldn't find them on their site. Do you have a link or part number?

This sure looks like a case for adjustable spring preload like what's being offered with the new 3.2 shocks, or a spring perch collar for the current 2.5 shock.

There's a set of 1.5" lift (0.75") spring perch collars on the bench. My intention is to take it to a machine shop and have it reduced to 0.5" in order to mimic what would be achieved with a threaded spring preload adjuster.

Still on the fence about doing anything with the suspension.
