We’ve got something new coming for the Ranger — introducing our Bed Rail Attachment Points (BRAPs), built from 3/16" 5052 aluminum.

In the first part of this video, you’ll see just the BRAPs bolted up to the bed rails. They can be installed in either the up or down position and are supported by our dynamic spacer stack below the bed rail top surface. That stack is a laminated set of 5052 aluminum spacers, variable in height depending on where you want to mount them.

Next up, you’ll see our light bracket mounts in action. These are a separate product, but they’re compatible with the same light brackets included with our Bed Rack RAILs. So if you decide to pull your bed rack but keep the lights, it’s a simple bolt-up to the BRAPs.

Both the BRAPs and the light brackets will be sold in pairs. A pair on the rear of the truck makes a solid solution for chase lights in dusty conditions.

There’s another piece to this system — not shown here — that’s going to be a big benefit. I’m holding off on showing it while I finish up the patent application.

I would consider making the BRAPs out of steel, but I think that would be a lot stronger than the bed sides. The 5052 is a great blend of strength and lightweight, plus - no rusting! We will offer them in textured black powder coat as well as raw aluminum.

We’re aiming to have these ready for release in about a week.

Let me know what you think!

EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE! I think I'll be in for a pair, I'll be excited to see the further implementation when you are ready

One of the only things that I was disappointed with about my new Ranger is that the tie down points do not work well for my trail bikes. These should rectify that problem. Thanks!

That's great to hear. We'll have some photos and video up next week with a dirtbike in the back. I just ran out of time Friday evening. 🤣

Have you considered a way to seal where these mount for those with tonneau covers using them as light mounts?

For my bed rails I ended up adding a thin piece of nylon sheet cut to size slightly larger than the hole in the bed rail that the shim pack inserts into. With the appropriate bolt holes drilled out and a piece of neoprene rubber that sits under the nylon.

I think the rubber is 1/32” and the nylon is 1/16”. Just enough to provide a water tight seal.

the bed rails sit on top of these which sit on top of the shim pack. Had some heavy rain the other day and it worked well.

Looking at these again they might not need it as they have better coverage across the top than the bed rails.

I’ll add photos once I’m somewhere with better cell coverage.

These are slightly wider than the hole cutouts. This was done to match the width of our light pod brackets, but it would also provide some surface area to attach some adhesive-backed foam. This should work well with maybe 1/4" thick foam tape.

This is what I ended up doing on the bed rails/cross bars.

Those are pretty cool, I wish the light mounts werent so tall though. That would be something id want to remove often.

Thanks! Not sure we can make them any lower. There has to be room for the light pod mounting bolt.

I think you would have to turn the bracket around to use with a cover.

@AdventureLab

my comment in general is that design consideration should be made for accommodating covers for items that attach to the rails.

and while I think the brap de-sign is quite clever

Where I would use a bed rail attachment point is probably going to being pulling some thing down and by moving the attachment point clip on point away from the center of the rail you have increased the moment that will be created on the rail and the bracket.
