I have my order in for the 10.1" screen XLT Standard Equipment Group with the High Tech package. The features on the High Tech package are a must for me. Now...there is a second group called the XLT High Equipment Group. The XLT High Equipment group includes the 12" center display screen. From what I can tell, it's just a 1.9" larger screen but the functions are equal. I personally think a 10.1" screen seems easily large enough to be more then adequate (considering all functions on the two are equal, and I believe they are?). I know it's a personal choice after that, it just seems to me the 12" would look too large. I posted the other features that would be a "nice to have" kind of thing on the High Equipment Group, but all I can live without. The power sliding rear window and power seats, for me, are "nice to have's. The dual climate control I never use and just complicates things for a simple mind such as mine. If it had heated seats AND a heated steering wheel that would be tempting as those I do like, but "just" heated seats without the heated steering wheel kills it for me. (I figure the Premium Cloth Bucket Front Seats don't get that cold in my area, if they where leather that would be another story). Again, It's just the SIZE of a 12" screen seems like overkill. I mean were jumping from an 8" screen from last year to a 10.1" on the MY2024.

So, after all of the above over-explaining on my part, does the 12" screen have some really cool feature over the 10.1"?

I’m far enough north that I wouldn’t be without heated seats (but as I’ve put in another thread, I’m a full load buyer & not all are). I’m the guy that can’t get too excited over another thousand given I hope to keep the truck for years. Even then the heated seats are useful for sore backs as well.

I thought there’d be an easy way to tell with pics just how it looks, but I’m not finding pics of the 10.1” screen, just the 12”. This article at least shows the difference in the ROW models.

Capability wise, there's no difference between the two.. the larger screen just uses up a little more of the 'empty' space in that area (the renders kinda show it, if you flip between XLT high, and XLT standard on the B&P).

I apologize, as I cannot find the link, but there is an Aussie bloke on YouTube that Has several reviews of the XLT/raptor and the other ROW trims. In one of his videos he mentioned that the 10.1“ screen had better response time when selecting icons on the screen than the 12”.

Yes, the heated seating was tempting, but no heated steering wheel kind of kills it for me. As a side note, I did read that article you linked already, it states the system comes only in Sync4. The Ford build shows Sync4A is actually used on either screen. Thank you for your input.

I truly appreciate the answer! I personally like the aesthetics of the smaller screen. I just wanted to be sure I was not missing out on some "cool feature(s)" the 12" might of had over the 10.1"

Really! That is interesting, and obviously helps me feel I made the wise choice for myself. Thank you!

If you go with the 10" it will allow you to add an aftermarket AUX switch panel below the the screen, where the 12" does not allow for this, so you have to look at other options for placing AUX switches.

For me, the question becomes do I need heated seats? I remember a time when I didn't have them and they only came with leather seats.

The 10 inch screen sounds like plenty and is bigger than the one I currently have.

I also see a $500 discount for the XLT which completely goes away with the high package.

I think I could survive without the high equipment group (heck the xlt even comes with keys).

couldn't you just add the AUX switch panel that the raptor has, up on the center ceiling near the sunglasses compartment?

You could but in order for it to work you’d have to also add the auxiliary box under the hood to get the six relays and six fuses for those switches. And then you still wouldn’t have the leads that go throughout the truck. By the time you add all that and wire it in, it’d be just as easy to install an aftermarket switch panel like an Auxbeam and end up with switches that are more useful.

My thoughts almost exactly. I like the heated seats, but it does not come with a heated steering wheel. If it had both, I posssibly would do it. Premium cloth seats don't get nearly as cold as leather (so while nice, I can do without). And, you are correct, clicking the "High Package" you lose the $500 "Standard Package" discount. So you are paying more for the High Group on top of losing that discount. As for the lumbar seats, I am fine with a simple system not so cluttered under the seats, and easier to clean below the seats as well.. With my luck some expensive Lumbar motor would go out in the future. Also, the "High Group" does not even give you the "push-to-start" button. Finally, I 100% agree, a 10.1" screen seems more then adequate and won't take over the area.

To use the AUX switches that the Raptor comes with, you need to use a different headline. Here in Australia you can only get those AUX switches when you order the premium pack that includes the matrix headlights and a subwoofer also. Hopefully they allow you in the US to order them seperate. I have add the AUX switches into the sunglass holder like on the 5G, and Ford will also included the AUX fuse box in the engine bay as part of it.

To be honest I'm getting an XLT, I don't even know what an "AUX switches" on the Raptor do? :)
