After combing through various threads, I realize that some people are cool with undercarriage rust on new vehicles and that it is not entirely uncommon.

My question is for those of you who had more than just a rusty drive shaft. What has everyone's experience been with their dealership/ FMC in addressing this issue?

Mine arrived at the dealership today, and there is an upsetting amount of rust on bolts, the frame, driveshaft, etc.

My particular trucker was built in the beginning of February, driven 130km on salty winter roads(presumably), and then parked dirty until now. The non driveshaft rust was definitely a result of this. I plan to see what the dealer will do with this, but I was hoping to see what others' experiences have been.

Thanks in advance.

On a side note, everything else looks perfect and the truck is beautiful. It's an XLT FX4 in ? grey.

I need to check mine, but I would expect it to be fairly clean on a new truck.

Congrats on taking possession. I am still waiting "in production" though my Ford Pass app went active. I can tell that it is still sitting in Wayne, Michigan but that it has 85 miles on the odometer. As of today, I'm at 124 days since going into production on my blend date of January 5th. I am guessing there is going to be ton of rust on it if/when I ever see it in person. If i don't have it in my driveway by the end of the month, which will be 1 full calendar year since I ordered it, I'm pulling the pin and ordering a 2.7 version. I've waited this long, I can wait to get the bigger engine version.

Thanks :) I'm actually still waiting for the dealership to give it a once over before I get it. I just stopped by and took a peek when it arrived. I feel your pain, 9 months was a ridiculous amount of time to wait for this thing. That time makes the rust extra frustrating. I don't blame you for ordering another. The 2.7 is tempting and realistically you would have it in 3 months.
