Installed the Hood Gas Strut kit from Pirate Camp, super high quality, will grab some pics in a little bit, got in a rush to run errands and didn't get any.

I would say that is probably worth it so every time I have my hood open, and any buddies are around I won't have to listen to all the guff about Ford being so cheap, that they stuck a prop-rod in a 60K truck. LOL.

I have already heard comments like that every time I have had the hood open on mine.

I customized my blendmount because my maxcam wasn’t getting gps most of the time. I had previously tried swapping in my redline detector with no change, and using suction cup mount for maxcam (worked).

Here’s a pic of the original mount setup, with the detector forward on suction cup.

I didn’t like how far the mount stuck down below mirror. I had removed the short body link the mount came with during install, but didn’t think it would push the mount forward far enough to be worth trying.

I ordered a different pivot bracket and a couple long body links, to move the detector higher and forward. Here’s the new setup.

Gps issue is fixed. I hope I don’t have vibration loosening issues with the long mount setup and extra pivot points.

If you don’t mind the detector sitting lower, i would expect the factory mount to work with just a long body link added to move detector forward.

Installed Foutz 2” perch collars.
I was planning to wait to see my final height after installing an arb summit bumper and 35gal gas tank, but neither seem to be in a hurry to release in America.
Since I’m going to rapter assault school on the 18th-19th, we decided to make it a week vacation, heading to moab afterwards.
Going to hit some trails, including Hells Revenge, so decided an extra 2” clearance up front isn’t a bad idea.

Install was generally easy for a coilover removal. Bottom strut bolt is crazy tight, and inboard strut top bolt is a bit cumbersome without pulling fender liner.
Spring compressor was a fight as always.

Final stance:

Still an inch lower in front, shoulda gotten the 2.5” collars.

Upgraded to Dorman oe-fix one piece lug nuts on all four corners while the front was apart.

Scheduled for alignment on Tuesday, will post if it’s out.

kinda off topic, but i love that hanging storage solution above the truck bed. is that a specific kit from the hardware storage? if so, what brand?
Thanks- the color I got was Carbon, but they may be out. Black is always in stock. Off of Amazon-

No, I left the fender liner in. I was able to get enough movement on a 15mm ratcheting wrench to break the inboard nut loose, then wedged my hand in far enough with a stubby 15mm ratcheting wrench to remove it. Minor carpet burns from fender liner. Passenger side is a bit worse due to roll pin location.

The second pic is as far as it was stripped down.

See ya there.

$175 a wheel and 150 for the skid plate.
Worth very penny. PC holds up so well compared to the painted wheels (OEM and aftermarket).

Did you have to adjust your hood latch due to it being hard to shut from the factory? Wondering how the struts affect it since you have to drop from height to get it to latch. I adjusted mine and now I can drop it from a relatively low height. Been wanting struts but just a tad worried about that. Pretty sure the dealership dented my hood from trying to shut it. Luckily I had some PDR done for hail so that got fixed with the rest. Still

Mine has progressively gotten worse which I don't understand. It was working fine up until last week. Now it doesn't seem to like GPS at all. Could be the dash cam in the way more than anything. Which links did you end up adding? I might have to try and push the detector forward some.

I adjusted my hood to close with a normal drop before I got the strut kit. Still works fine with the pirate camp co setup.
