I've had the issue with the phone not connecting on and off, that is by far the most infuriating thing I've had so far.

Your brake pedal issue is interesting, I wear a size 13 and haven't had that one happen. I keep my heal on the floor and pivot so maybe thats why I haven't gotten it.

As for your auto start and stop mine stays off, I'd consider going to dealer on that one.

2,000 miles in and here are my rants. Warning, unpopular opinion follows.

1. No Owner's Manual: I cannot forgive Ford from not supplying or including an option to purchase an owner's manual. The HTML version on the Ford website is riddled with broken links and pages not found. The version on the screen in the vehicle contains broken links and pages not found. Table of contents? Nope. Search function sucks. Worse, you have to sit in your vehicle with the accessory on discharging the battery or sit in your vehicle with it idling. This is fun when it's 90F+ outside. Why is there no PDF version that reads like one complete document where you can scroll through pages? Why do I have to click and click and click and click oops page not found, back up, click and click... Annoying!

2. Seatbelt Warning at Start-up: WHY ... WHY do I have to select Ok after starting to make sure seated passengers are belted up? Is there a way to disable this? I have not found it if so. That OK button on the steering wheel is going to wear out fast!

3. Autostop - Start: The disable function doesn't work. Push the button, the screen says it was disabled by the switch, it works once or twice, then after a few minutes driving, come to a stop, the engine shuts off. Annoying.

4. Ford Spy Vehicle: Like most vehicles today, this is a "connected vehicle". Ford is incredibly cryptic about what is recorded, captured and sent to Ford and their third parties possibly including your insurance company! You can't find this information. A vehicle owner should have to OPT-IN rather than have all of this stuff defaulted on spying on you until you figure out how to turn them off. Do they really turn off? Probably not.

5. Door Code: You can't reset the door code from the screen. Luckily you can do it manually on the door.

6. Connectivity: Updates ...my truck has said no updates since owning. Ok. But how do I know the vehicle has the current update? There's no way to readily figure this out.

7. Cellphone USB/WIFI/AppleCarPlay: Every time I enter the vehicle will it connect or not connect. Sometimes you have to stop, turn off, open the door, lock, unlock, restart and let your phone connect. iPhone user. Then when it does connect, there's no sound. If you were on a phone call when getting into the vehicle, they can hear you, you can't hear them. Selecting Apple Car Play icon from the cellphone list turns on truck's wifi and usb. Why are both required? What's transmitted onto or off your device when using wifi, usb and/or connected with a cable. We don't know. They're never going to tell us.

8. The Brake Pedal: The clearance between the brake pedal and the dash is inadequate. My foot touches the bottom of the dash when my foot is on the pedal. Transitioning from the gas pedal to the brake pedal is impeded by the dash. Size 12 shoe.

9. If you plug in a device that needs charging, you get constant "This USB device will charge only" messages. Over and over.

10. Off-road and locker functions are embedded in the screen. We knew it. It still sucks!

11. Sport Mode: Seems sluggish on throttle response, too much turbo lag and holds gear at high RPM before switching gears.

12. Audio Glitch ... if you have music playing and someone touches the screen, sometimes there's an electronic buzz interruption in the audio.

There's probably more I just can't think of them right now.

I agree with all a d have had the same experience with all except rake, size 11. However I feel it awful close to accelerator and small. My salesman ordered me a owners manual for free, however it’s been 4 months and I still don’t have it. Talked to him last Monday and he said it is t here and he has another person waiting on one for a different vehicle for 8 months so far. As for the doorcode I found out there are 2 codes, not sure that is correct, but I didn’t try because I had already changed. But if you open the fuse pa el there is another code card attached to it. Mine was a different number than the card they gave me at delivery. One other issue with there program is if you have navigation on the center screen or radio, when a call comes in tit shows on center screen and dash screen. Then it never returns to where it was before call. You have to push ok twice and then select my view before getting back to dash screen. Then you have to go to center screen and pick icon that you were on. Much more distracting and dangerous. So basically 5 steps, while driving, just to get back to prior screens. IMHO a recipe for an accident because you are taking your eyes off the road. FORD can do better. My 2015 and 2020 F150 previously owned would go back to prior screen.

The on screen owners manual does suck for sure. But there is hope. I got one on Ebay for like $50. Thickest owners manual I've ever seen.

I found, if you save the Rapture Mode with the Auto Start/Stop off, when restarting, it will be off. It will ask you if you wish to stay in sport mode as well.

I have the 4D conversion sitting on the bench in the garage and making sure the Auto Start/Stop stays off. If it doesn’t I’ll install the conversion.👍🇺🇸

I see what you mean.
There’s no space here at all for my size 11.5 feet!
This is what the race car guys mean when they talk about heel-toe driving, right?

You should be banned from the forum.

Anyway, on 5G, the only way to be 100% sure Ford isn't spying, is to pull the modem. But then you lose all functions the app offers. Everybody else on you phone will still track you.

If people are using phones and not throwing them in the ocean, then arbitrarily being paranoid about the Ford Bureau of Investigation is just dumb.

  • I downloaded the manual as .pdf from Ford site, satisfactory for my needs and print out whichever parts you want, transfer to your phone or IPad if you need it on the go.
  • Seatbelt warning it a pain, think you can disable in FORSCAN.
  • Auto start/stop can be disabled in My Mode and saved. I just bring all my setting up with the double ‘R’ when I get in.
  • Agree but never had my insurance company comment on my aggressive driving style or consistent driving over the speed limit.
  • Didn’t want that feature
  • For Sync updates I think this link would help https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/search/accept-software-updates-sync4a/ haven’t tried hopefully easier than with Sync 3 updating.
  • My Iphone connects wireless routinely, never had an issue., just lucky I guess.
Haven’t had any of the other issues, but just broke 1000 miles.

Most of the issues listed seem to be Sync related. I have them too. I'm beginning to thinkI the I.T. guys don't have a driver's license or Ford didn't Beta check with everyday drivers. My experience at 5500 miles:
- When underway the screen sometimes goes blank then 5-10 minutes later reboots.
- Listen to a lot of podcasts. Sometimes they stop in the middle, then later restart at the beginning.
- Selecting a "button" from the screen when driving is dangerous and distracting. There's a lot of room on the screen and making those "buttons" rger would be a big help.
- It's a small thing, but annoying. Make the menu line and the heated seats icon row on the screen bold and a font size larger. They are hard to read/see/use.

Put a row of real buttons under the existing temp/volume control row for locking diffs, heated seats/wheel, to name a couple. Others will have their own ideas about what should be there.

I know "my view" allows temperatures for transmission/water (and other things as well) but why not put those temperatures in the gauges similar to the miles-to-empty.

The on-screen owner's manual is nothing more than Clep-notes. I ordered a hard copy on-line and received it a couple of weeks. $50. Suggest whoever is printing them, separate the child seating/safety portion in a second manual and sell them together. Around 650 pages for the current printed manual of which 1/3 is seating/safety and how to buckle your safety belt.

And my biggest complaint is the Adaptive Cruise on/off which also turns on lane keeping at the same time. Why? I've owned 14 Ford vehicles since 1978 and all but a couple have a different control pattern for the cruise. Ford talks about it's "DNA." How about standardizing the DNA for the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. Change channels on the right side, volume on the left. It's like someone said, well, "Let's put it here. We're not using that space."

The actual truck is great. Handles well, is solid and I'm getting 20-22MPG

You do know you don’t have to hit OK for the seatbelt right? after 20 seconds it goes away on its own

But who wants to see it for 20 seconds, especially when you want to go into the menu or enter R mode?
