2024 2.7 Ranger XLT
Threw together a quick video about my thoughts of the 2.7 after about a week of ownership and a few things i've done.

TLDR Version: engine is awesome, super smooth (to the point i'm questioning if i need a AS/S eliminator) and has plenty of power very low in the band. I question Ford's choice of having an actual key for the XLT model (like seriously: wireless carplay but a turn key). Its a great truck.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the video.
My 2.7 Lariat FX4 should be here before the end of this week. I’ve ordered the FSE-LA brackets for ditch lights, and Rigid Industries D-SS PRO DRIVING PAIR Black pods. I’m trying to figure out how to mount the light switch that is included with the harness. I also have Falken Wildpeak A/T4W tires that will be added immediately, a front/rear dash cam, the F150 LED badge backlighting, and raised lettering for the tailgate. I’ll add a BDS Suspension 2.5ā€ lift kit when it comes out.
I have a ā€˜21 Ranger now…. I’m really looking forward to that V6!

@jbethune, BTW have you looked to see if the infamous J-bracket refitment (reinforced) bed front corner was done at the factory?

Thanks so much for posting this. I’m ordering my XLT/FX4 package up here in Canada this week with almost the identical options as your truck with the 2.7 V6. I concur with the Lariat wheels (looks like an electric vehicle wheel) and the leather in the Lariat I personally didn’t like. Also the 17ā€ wheels on the XLT package look fantastic for OEM stock. I will follow along with your listings as I wait. I am curious but how long did it take for you to order and receive the truck? Thanks again, cheers! Gary

I ordered my truck on 5/12, it was built on 8/22 and finally delivered last night. I expect to pick it up today or tomorrow following dealer prep. Of course, I had to wait for Job 2 to start and my original production start date was in third week of July; which got moved to the right a couple of times. If you order a truck now, you’ll probably have wait until the 2025 models start production in winter.

Did you have any concerns over the 2.7 cam phaser issues that are still happening in the Bronco? I am going to order a 2025 and would like the 2.7 but.........

Thanks Steve, that makes sense to me. I’m good to wait until 2025. The dealership said no guarantees on delivery but if he was a betting person it would be a ā€˜25. Cheers.

It is a concern but i'm hopeful that the latest batch don't have this issue or if mine does have this issue a definitive solution is found before my warranty expires.

OK. Thanks for the reply. Yes Im hoping for a cam phaser fix on the 2025's (even though its been going on for years) and maybe dual injection on the 2.3 before I make my choice. I've read the motor has to come out for the phasers which gives me the willies. Im glad to hear the 6 cyl is smoother as I expected it would be. Im looking forward to your future updates and have subscribed!

To be honest, the 2.3 duel injection would have made the decision much harder...but i'd also be cautious the first year of an engine...

I agree. There was some posts on another forum about a new 2.0 with port and direct. It is completely redesigned with new block and heads and a gas particulate filter to satisfy CA. Im guessing it will be used in the 25 Maverick. That current 2.0 is a hot rod in the Maverick with very few issues so the fact that they re designed it leads me to believe the 2.3 might be next.

i think the mustang was supposed to get a redesigned 2.3 in '24, the specs show direct and port for '25 at least...
