Cool. I hope they use that in the Ranger.

As the owner of a Mustang with more than twice the HP of the 2.7 Ranger, I sort of kind of have an idea of what that's like.My only driving complaint is actually just a flash-back to the days or rear wheel driver vehicles. This thing is basically a 1990 F-150 with 3x the torque and double the horsepower. With no weight in the back, the rear wheels spin very easily. It takes a gentile foot from a stop if you want to take off fast, and safely driving in the rain definitely requires awareness that you are in a very high torque rear-wheel-drive truck.
V6s are inherently unstable. You need a multiple of 4 to be inherently stable. 4-8-12. Because it's a 4 stroke motor. Keys are safer when considering runaway acceleration. I am glad i have one.Threw together a quick video about my thoughts of the 2.7 after about a week of ownership and a few things i've done.
TLDR Version: engine is awesome, super smooth (to the point i'm questioning if i need a AS/S eliminator) and has plenty of power very low in the band. I question Ford's choice of having an actual key for the XLT model (like seriously: wireless carplay but a turn key). Its a great truck.
Enjoy!
Yes V6's shake a bit. However the firing forces are balanced on a 60 degree bank angle. They fire every 120 degrees. Motor mount design takes care of that bit of shake.V6s are inherently unstable. Lol, flat 4s are super smooth, inline 4s less so. In terms of real world NVH, V6s are way smoother than I4s.V6s are inherently unstable. You need a multiple of 4 to be inherently stable. 4-8-12. maybe if they have Balance shafts. The sixes have a miss fire on every second rotation. It's just a fact.Lol, flat 4s are super smooth, inline 4s less so. In terms of real world NVH, V6s are way smoother than I4s.
I6 would be the smoothest but too long to put under the hood of a Ranger.Lol, flat 4s are super smooth, inline 4s less so. In terms of real world NVH, V6s are way smoother than I4s.

If they do I will seriously consider it otherwise it’s the 2.7. I like zoom
I legit just watched your video on YouTube before finding this thread.Threw together a quick video about my thoughts of the 2.7 after about a week of ownership and a few things i've done.
