Now that I have the Lariat in my driveway and all the drama is over for me - let me share my experience.

Ranger Lariat RWD - Oxford white with sandstone interior, spray in liner, safe, locking differential, keyless keypad

Order Date 12/21/23

Order Confirmation 12/27/23

Build Week 2/26/24, Moved to 3/4/24

Built confirmation 3/20/24

Shipped by CSX Rail to Tampa FL 3/22/24

Delivered to Brandon Ford 4/5/24

Took deliver 4/8/24 with 27.3 miles on odometer

Note - This was a retail buy with an Xplan pin given to me by my friend (retired - Ford executive)

The two coupon codes did not work for me so no further discount.

Xplan price $45012.76

Delivery charge $75

Florida sales tax $2705.66

Florida County Tax $50

Title & 2 year Registration $170.45

Lemon Law Fee $2

Lead acid battery fee $1.50

New tire fee $5

Extended Service Contract 8 years\100,000 miles $3970

Full Maintenance Contract 8 years \ 100,000 miles $3215

Sales Tax on the two contracts $502.95

Total turn key drive away $55,710.32

Note – and this is just my own opinion. I’m so glad I took the chance and ordered the Sandstone interior instead of Black. When you open the door, it is nice and light and the contrast of the Sandstone and black accents are really elegant. If I had ordered black it would have been one huge black hole when you open the door. Again, this is just my own opinion.

First driving impressions - two minor gripes; the navigation (I used Google maps via Apple Play) got confused and missed a turn
Nice truck, waiting on a Raptor, order to production considerably longer. Only comment is that Waze is IMO the only nav app to use...some many added features and just plain better again IMO

We always use Waze on any long trip - the best for being warned about radar traps

That’s strange - I’m pretty sure that your truck got shipped via CSX rail transportation and it should have went directly through to the Tampa rail yard where Ford has a union run transit depot to send trucks to each dealership. Call the General Sales Manager and ask him how one of their customers gets shipped and received and the other customers order gets lost. Just doesn’t make sense
I didn't understand when Ford chat stated it went convoy. I looked up the tracking code on the sticker previously & stated rail to Tampa. Brandon Ford's response made no sense either stating the truck was in Winter Park and the est. delivery dates. I am a Ford guy, Dad retired after 40 yrs. at Ford and have only owned Ford's for 40yrs. This will be my 5th ranger, 2 from the past and a 2019 & current 2020. My gut is saying this truck is a mistake.

Just checked tracker & states at final prep, interesting!

I also think that since I ordered RWD and never intend on going off road I wasted money on the locking differential.
Even in FL where you don't get snow, I would argue that a locking rear diff is still valuable. You never know when you're driving situation will cause you to get stuck, either based on road conditions or a mishap. The security of a lockable or limited-slip diff is awesome. Any sort of torrential rain i would look at the rear diff as providing a sense of security.

Better to have it and not need it, right?

Apple maps now has that feature too.

The Chat has been wrong on so many levels during my experience. I got better information from Ford Marketing Program Headquarters at (800) 334-4375 which are human beings instead of the Chat Bot. Our dealership can access info not privy to either service; so they have the best tools to find out exactly where it is and an estimate of arrival. CSX stops at the Ford Depot - 7001 Anderson Road Drew, FL (which is Tampa just North of the airport).

CSX Railcar Transportation # TTGX704515 (that was my rail car number, you need to put your own number in there. You can get your railcar number from Ford Chat.
CSX Railcar Transportation - 877.744.7279 x 2x1

Hope this was helpful -

Rich, haven't been able to get Waze on the new truck yet, only the std Nav shows up. Will work on it, but heard a rumor Ford no longer allows Waze...

Even with Apple Car Play? Seem to see that it does, not going though Sync...from FordRaptorForum.com " Works great with Apple CarPlay. Doesn't go through Sync at all other than being displayed on the screen - all through the CarPlay phone projection" Which is how it works for me on my '19 with Carplay. But TBS lots of somewhat conflicting info....still searching

Samsung S21, Android, connected to Android Auto. It's wonky, sometimes connects wirelessly, sometimes won't. Dealer can't figure it out, of course they all have iphones. Preferred AA (wired) on my 5g also and Waze, avoiding the smokies, and like the color aerial maps.

Waze still works fine on my Sync 3 android auto.

I don't think Ford has any control over what apps are offered within Android Auto since that is Google's product. They are the ones that control which apps are supported and since Google owns Waze, there's no reason it would be excluded.

My wife's new Atlas is the same way... Apple Car Play connects fine wirelessly one day, then the next day won't connect until you try it a half a dozen times then other days won't connect at all.
