My button looks the same, i just remember it only being an upper trim option from the early press releases.

It sounds like with active park assist 1.0 you get: The system steers the vehicle into a parking space while the driver shifts, accelerates, and brakes and Only has the Parallel Park In parking mode.

With active park assist 2.0 you get: The system steers, shifts, brakes, and accelerates the vehicle, Can help with parallel and perpendicular parking, and Can alert the driver if there are objects in front of, behind, or next to the vehicle.

so the main difference with the lariat/raptor park assist is just the computer basically doing every action, versus the xlt park assist where it steers but you do the rest.
Ahhhh got it makes sense!

Another thing the e-shifter will do… If you (somehow) forget to put the vehicle in park and press the push button start/stop, the truck will shift itself into park. My Edge with the dial shifter would do this too.

When I first got my NA 2024 RR I loved the look of the short E Shifter but hated the way it functioned.

After driving it for the last 7 months I still love the looks of the stubby puppy but now that I’m used to it and if given a choice would go with the vertically challenged shifter for looks alone.

From what I read from this, the short shifter is required for the active park assist 2.0. But with that feature going away, there’s still no confirmation that the e-shifter is going away as well. I guess we’ll all know for certain once 25s are available.

I love the short electric shifter in my 24 Raptor.
The wireless phone charger looks completely unaccessible with the ugly tall shifter.
Not to mention that I can open my door or shut the car off while it’s in gear and it will automatically put itself into Park like the newer F150’s.

As for those people complaining about park assist 1.0 vs 2.0.
My wife has a 24 Mach-E that has the same “park” button in it.
I guess Ford stopped putting any sort of park assist features in Mach-E’s after 2022. All her button does is tell the GPS to look for parking lots nearby…

This is false. The shifter is not ugly nor does it have any impact on the wireless phone charger. This is just another Raptor lover bragging about having a Raptor.

It looks like you have about a 2” gap to slide a phone in there unless you come from the passenger side…

The short, or e-shifter is on the Raptor and the Lariat 4x4. All other versions get the taller shifter incuding the Lariat 2wd.

I had a 2024 Lariat with the shorty shifter for a bout 5 weeks and really liked it. I thought it looked and felt very modern. And I liked the button on the side to active the gear indicator display. Will probably get a 2025 and bummed it will have the tall shifter.
