Ford Performance Tune not approved for 2025 Raptor Ranger

Sorry if this is common knowledge. I did some forum searching and couldn't find anything on it. Just wanted to make everyone aware that the 2025 Raptor Ranger cannot use the Ford Performance Tune.

I am in the market for a Raptor Ranger. I currently own a 2024 F150 Raptor and might change it up to get something a little easier to maneuver on the narrow trails here in Colorado. Anyways, I noticed the Ford Performance website says the tune is only available up to the 2024 year model. I reached out to the FP chat to clarify. Here is their response:

Probably hasn’t been run through all the certifications for emissions and 50 State / 49 stuff. Ford is probably still running laps in Dearborn at the proving grounds making sure everything works!

Title misleads haha, Eric did not say it's not compatible, he said it "still has to be approved" which can be taken as it is compatible and waiting to be approved.

Not misleading but I didn't save the reply right after from Eric, so that's on me. He stated the tunes are VIN locked so even if you tried to force the tune it wouldn't allow you with a 2025 VIN.

Not approved = not compatible = you can't use the FP tune on the 2025

Not compatible implies even it there was approval for some reason, that you still cannot due to compatibility. In this case, it would be more fitting to state that it IS compatible pending approval. Because in reality, that's what it is, probably.

Fair point. Compatible but not available. I edited the title. Chatting with FP again for more clarification. Will post soon.

Great info, very good to know. If the 2025 was actually not compatible and can never get the FP tune. I would 100% be looking for a 2024 instead of waiting for my 2025 order, which I am already doing because lord knows how long the order is going to take. But blue and red 2024s are scarce... Never had so much issue giving someone MSRP for a new 1 year old model year production vehicle.

I read parking assistance is gone. No one wanted that anyways. And late my 24 and all 25 have reinforced bed support near the cabin. Other rumor is heated steering wheel is gone, but the website is showing this function still..

Heated steering being gone would be a huge bummer for me. F150 raptors has the same feature drop a few years ago but it was tied to chip shortages during covid. It would be kinda BS for them to drop that just for cost cutting IMO. This thing is still $8k cheaper than a TRD Pro Tacoma. I'd pay an extra $500 for a heated steering wheel

Might be related to flat towing. The 2024 can't be flat towed where the 2025 can be.

Just drive to a Nevada dealer to get it installed worst case scenario
