Anyone try installing their own "DIY" molle panels or cargo management?

Great looking job! Do you happen to have a link to what you used? I already have a rivet nut tool and assorted rivets, they are super handy. I used some in my 2019 Lariat bedside as well on the cargo racks on my atv
It’s the small panel from builtright. You will need some spacers as well. I can’t remember if they were an extra cost or if they came with the panels.

Basic plywood diy drawers. They fit my packout (like Ridgid Gear Pro) down to milimeters both for width and height (under the shutter) so no rollers that would take too much space. Drawers are very light themselves and not attached in any way so I can remove them whenever I want. Fully loaded they get quite heavy but still mangeable. 10/10I can recommend.

I made these today. They will be for sale in the next week or so. Lots of options coming for the rear half of the side panels (Packout, rotopax, power panel access, etc.)

Are these available yet, I don't see them on your site? Also, what price range will those be?

Not yet. We are working on the product data this week. Hope to have them launched by the weekend. Pricing won't be finalized until launch. I'll make sure and put an announcement here when the product pages are live. Thank you for your interest!

If you have it done by the weekend, I would love to order and try to get them ASAP. I have a road trip starting July 5th and it would be great to have these by then. Not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice.

I prefer to wait for you guys though, rather than going with some other ones, since your stuff is really good and very well priced. I would not want to pay $900 for some panels. Not that it is a lot of money, but out of the principal of it. I mean more power to them if they can sell at that price, but it won't be to me. LOL

I just have a lowly XLT but I've been working through some additions on mine:

L-Track on the bulkhead in a couple of places

L-Track on the underside of both bed rails (on the slightly angled part)

Molle style pocket (driver's side only for now) along with a receiver shackle mount in place of a tie-down hook

Which pieces are you interested in? I have already pre-built some stock for some of the parts.

Thanks for your support! We try to make a high quality product at a fair price. It doesn't leave much margin, but we sleep well at night. 😁

L-Track on the underside of both bed rails (on the slightly angled part)

Perfect timing!! Waiting for my L-track to ship so I can do this exact thing next weekend!!

Couple questions I've been debating. I was going to put front bulkhead piece on the top of the rail, you put it facing toward the back. What made you face it rearward vs upward? Pro/con? For some reason top mount seems more natural to me, but I dunno why.

I was also eyeing the 45 degree spot under the side rails. You like or use those? I was thinking to put spacer behind the L-track to move it out-and-down from under the plastic side rails. TBD. Not sure if they will be easy to use or worth the effort to install.

Did you do anything in the stake pockets on top of the plastic bed rails? I was wondering if 3-4" L-track stub would fit there. Or mount some small Drings under the plastic covers.

Thanks!

At least one side full for the bed for the road trip. However, ultimately I want to get both sides full. Send me a DM and I can give you my number.

That pocket is pretty nice. Where did you get it?

@snowman3

The problem with putting track or anything on top of any of the rails is that it prevents you from putting tonneaus/toppers/etc on. I have a Bestop tonneau/topper combo for my truck and that is a "sealing" surface. The other benefit to using the front surface that I used is that there are some existing holes and weldnuts that I was able to use to drill less holes. For all the pieces I have on the front bulkhead I either used existing weldnuts or drilled through and used a large fender washer and nylock on the backside (tying to get to those lower front ones was a massive PITA). I will note that the bulkhead is not nearly as stiff as I expected it to be; fine for securing stuff to to keep it from moving but I wouldn't try to strap a Harley or something to them.

The tracks on the underside of the rails I just finished installing last weekend so I haven't put it to much use yet. They are installed with a combination of existing weldnuts and a couple of rivnuts that I installed (the existing threaded holes are unfortunately not well spaced for the L-track). I race Time Attack and tow my car to the track on an open trailer so I tend to end up putting tool boxes, coolers, and other things in the bed and I'm hoping to use those tracks to just help keep things from moving around. I may also get some swivel hooks to hang folding chairs, grocery bags, or and other light things too.

As far as the stake pockets go I haven't done anything yet, as noted I have a tonneau/topper. I know they do make small L-track pieces with 1-3 "holes' that might fit down in the stake pockets, but the holes in those pockets wouldn't really line up or work because of their size (unless you put a threaded plate or something underneath?). There are some M8 weldnuts in the rails that could be accessed from underneath, but I wouldn't want to put a lot of load on them because they're designed to bolt something on the topside to, not pull on from underneath.
