Poorly Installed Keyless Entry Keypad

The dealer installed a keypad on my new 2024 Ranger. It was part of the deal. This is what it looked like when they returned it to me. Color does not match and the there is space around it; no seal of some sort. First, I am concerned about water getting inside, and second it looks terrible with a color that does not match. Not sure I trust the dealership to make it right. Suggestions?

So... you probably want to request a different color. It definitely looks dumb like that.

As far as the other point...it's a self-contained wireless unit. There's no seal because it doesn't need one. You can pop it off with a pry tool.

It had to be very obvious to the tech who installed this that it was the wrong color. Why didn’t they stop and consult the customer before installing this very clearly wrong part?

No need to reprogram. Mine didn't mess up the paint - it was attached with double sided tape.

I wonder if the dealership painted it and got the color wrong. The only way you can get it body colored matched was if you got the factory installed option on the '24 models. Now it's a dealer installed option that only comes in black.

Mine was factory, they should have made the numbers vertical and attached to the black area on the b pillar.

it works. I’m not sure what you are asking as nothing locks.

I wasn’t smart enough to figure it out On my own.

i figured since the unit is sealed and will not to be replaced, it would be easier if installed inside the gas cap.

Ford has been using the capless Easy Fuel system since 2008 or 2009.
