2025 Ranger Recall: Loss of Brake Boost (OTA Update Coming August 25)

Yesterday I looked at my Ford Pass app on my phone and under Service/Service Schedule, it shows an active safety recall: Loss of brake boost, recall incomplete: Schedule your free recall service with a dealer.

I called and made an appt for next week to get the software download. Ours was supposedly fixed previously, but we still have some loss of power in the brakes. Hopeful this will change it correctly this time.

The service manager didn't know about the recall yet either. An article I read said it would be released on August 25th, but it is definitely on my phone, so check your Ford Pass app!!

It is. My dealer is coming out this afternoon to update mine.

I just got the same notice on mine, have an appointment to take it in tomorrow morning to have it updated.
From what I read, it my also be available OTA, but so far I'm not seeing it on mine.

On your vehicle, it may be possible to experience a loss of brake boost while driving. A loss of brake boost can cause a change in brake pedal feel and increased pedal travel. If this occurs, the anti-lock brake system ABS, electronic stability control esc, and brake telltales will illuminate, and informational messages will be displayed in the instrument cluster. Additionally, you will receive an audible alert.
Safety Risk
An unexpected loss of brake boost while driving can result in increased stopping distance, which increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Software is now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to update the anti-lock brake system ABS module software, free of charge.

According to the bulletin ota updates should be coming on the 25th.

I got the update at the dealer yesterday. It took a little over an hour.

The dealer ship scheduled a mobile appointment at my home yesterday and reprogramed the ABS on the vehicle computer. It took about 30 minutes.

No. All was normal before and after. The dealer did ask me about tires!! Haha I said the truck has under 3k miles on it. They are having some kind of tire push at Ford

My '24 was built December of '24. I'm looking on my Ford Pass and it's telling no recalls for my truck. Does anyone recall what the build date range is for the recall?

Scheduled mine for Friday at the dealership. They have the best popcorn and massage chairs. The scenery is usually pretty nice also,lol.
