Installed Airplex bug / stone guard on hood. Used a UK dristributor since Airplex doesn't ship to US direct, wasn't happy with any of the US options. There's a very generous clearance behind it and hood (about 3/8~1/2 in).

About 1/8 in thick plastic that's VERY close in sheen / color to the charcoal grey. Very well-built deflector and appears to be made from a very similar polymer as the factory grille (impact resistance acrylic).

Next is PPF on the headlights only since I'm poor(ish).

Do you think the way it's mounted will cause the paint to rub off down the road? I.e. wind vibrations, or paint fade?

No, it mounts to the bottom of the hood and comes out from the bottom a bit with a large gap between the front of the hood and the bug guard. On the sides where those clips are, there is a PPF like film patch you put on, so the clip doesn't actually touch the paint (they are just pressure clips, plastic).

It's well thought out and designed, the material is of a similar acrylic to the grille and it's about 2mm thick at least, so it's fairly heavy duty. If I get a chance and can remember, I'll try to get a pic of how it's mounted and post it.

The new speakers do appear to be an improvement. They have a high sensitivity rating for those that want to power them directly from the OEM head unit without an amp. So they have good volume and clarity. Because they're a 2-way coax speaker, the sound is a little brighter than OEM, but they produce bass that's more defined. It's strange, but the slightly brighter sound seems to allow more adjustability of the tone through the OEM head unit. They weren't very difficult to install. The door panels come off fairly easily as long as you exercise patience. If you order everything from Crutchfield they supply all the speaker adapters, wiring harness adapters and vehicle specific disassembly instructions. Plus there're a number of youtube videos that depict how to remove the door panels. Overall I thought it was worth the effort.

Thank you for details! I just upgraded from a 19 Lariat with B&O (I enjoyed it very much) and need to do a little something for the sound in the 6 speaker 25 XLT. it works for now, but not for long, i need my tunes!

Picked up wheels and tires at the shipper today. Unfortunately they put on heavy LT tires instead of P metric, I ordered. Can tell its harder to stop now. Excuse the dirty truck!
