Looking at a 2024 Ranger Raptor - Thoughts?

Hey all! Back in the market for a Ranger Raptor. I’m currently looking at a 2024 in Cactus Grey. It has 11,782 miles on it and they’re asking $53,685. I’m pretty sure that’s a decent deal but wanted to check with you all. I have a trade I owe $27k on and they’re offering me $35k for. People have been telling me to check with Carmax first to see what they’d give me.

Just curious as to what you all think of this deal and if I’m stupid for doing it. I’d have to drive about 2 hours to pick it up if I end up going through with it.

Also, is there still an opportunity to purchase the Ford extended warranty through Flood Ford and is it worth it?

Are you set on Gray? I’m seeing new 2025’s discounted $2,000 from MSRP which would put you close to what you’re buying a used 2024 for. You can buy a Ford Protect plan anytime under the 3/36k original warranty. If you buy a new one you also get 40k+ Ford pass points which can be redeemed for the warranty (at least some of it).

Is Cactus Grey a 2024 only color? Issue is, anything over $50k here in CT for purchase price is hit with a 1.5% luxury tax. Plus I’m getting pretty good value on the trade and tax benefits. I’d be looking at around $62k brand new here which most dealers are marking up too.

Just not sure what to do honestly.

I personally haven't seen any ranger raptors under sticker. But even at sticker you could get a new 2025 or 2026 and pick your color and options for around $59 - $60,000. I would guess financing a new would be less than used too. No comment on extended warranty as I never buy them. Good luck and enjoy.

You guys are right. Glad I came here first. I’ve found a couple in the CGM I’d prefer around $56k new. 2025. Just going to go that route.

Good choice….. those online dealers like carvana and carmax underbid the trade in on my bronco by a few thousand…. And i purchased new re as well due to the warranty and my choice of color.

How this this work? i own my raptor for three weeks i haven't heard anything about Assault school

You have 1 year from the date of purchase to sign up. It fills up fast so now you might be looking toward spring for a slot. Online search for Ford Ranger Rapror Assault School should lead you to the info and sign up page. You apply and enter your vin and they confirm your eligibility. It is near Salt Lake City Utah. I bought my RR used, so even though it had only 92 miles on it and the allotment further vin was not used, I was denied.

If anyone is interested, Conklin Ford in Newton, KS, just cut the price of their 2025 Marsh Gray Raptor by $1785 this morning. Funny because yesterday I was talking with my salesman there about a 2026 Ranger Lariat build vs the 2025 Lariat they are now looking to trade for (Ruby Red, 2.7L, Black Appearance, FX4, tow pkg) and I mentioned that the price on a 2025 should be coming down, even on a Raptor.
