Hello Everyone:
I am new at Ranger6G. I recently about a month ago purchased a Carbonized Gray Ranger Raptor and been looking for a canopy for the Truck bed. I didn't want the Overland look because I sometimes drive it for work so I search for a Canopy that can look as factory as possible.

Well, I had the Maxliner Venture Canopy installed in their US office and warehouse in SoCAl. It took a few hours installed by the designer engineer and tech came over after the SEMA show. They offer to install for free and here are some photos of that.

The shell-canopy is made of ABS with reinforced metal frame internally to have the load carry capacity. I am not planning to put a roof top tent( i would have taken a different approach if that was the case). I eventually want to have a rack or something to put my roof top cargo box and have an awning attached.

My goal is not to add too much weight and want to keep as much as the stock suspension feel which was really nice to begin with. My only concerns are:

1) weight increase of 200 lbs. from Canopy.
2)weight increase of $150-$200 lbs. of rack and awning.
3)DC Frig-Freezer when I add for camping trips whenever I go.
4)DC-DC charging system with Bluetti Elite 200V2 battery pack.

This is not including sleeping; camping can cook gear.

The way the truck sits is still slightly higher in the rear and I can feel just with the canopy(200 lbs.) already have an effect on the ride and feel.

I am thinking of adding King Springs, progressing in the rear alone to support I think normally extra 300 to 500 Lbs. load to keep the butt end from sagging and rough ride.

Anyone can give me some suggestions?

Thx

Strange….within the last couple weeks I reached out to Maxliner about a desert tan color matched canopy and getting it to WA State. Their team (CA location) stated that color matched wasn’t an option at this time and I was out of luck with my tan request. All they could do is black. Kinda (actually it did!) rubbed me since their website shows color matches as an option.
And BAM!…..yours pops up color matched??? Too bad because I love the look of the Maxliner. Perfectly flat top and it lines up to the roof better than most of the other options. Plus, the frameless windows is the only way to go on these modern trucks. Really looks up to date and not like an old style canopy on a new style truck. And personally it may not be for all but I like the upper cut glass on the front of the windows.
Looks good……Looks REAL good! I’m just pissed you got a color match, HA! I’m envious…..those liars!

I was going to say that is a sharp looking topper. Might not be for everyone, but those lines are *chef's kiss*.

Looks awesome!
I shopped for something like that for weeks, I ended up ordering an A.R.E Evolve, got it installed Thursday. Same sort of back window , but I really like those side windows and the rear hatch opens.

Buellsox, I hear you, on the 2 tone colors are very limited. Before I bought my truck which was about month and a half ago, I researched what was the Ranger purpose and how much accessories I wanted to add to it. I wanted a factory looking topper. So I found 2 companies, Maxliner and Alpha, both are made in Thailand but developed in Australia and Europe markets. Because Maxliner have a US, SoCal location so I choose them. I worked with the sales director, Eve and they have very limited colors, I looked at the textured black and I don want it. I choose what they have in 2 tone colors, Gloss Black, Gloss white and Carbonized Grey. Carbonized Grey was what I decided BEFORE I bought my Ranger. I checked with several dealers and located one nearby so I bought it.

My only suggestion is the 2 tone canopy vs Matt black is extra $300. You could buy a Gloss White 2 tone but you will have to have a local painter to paint it. My local painter will do it for $500. You can also wrap that too If you can match the color. Thats the problem with limited availability currently in US market. I bought the 10th Canopy they sold so far this year so… sales is not flying out the door. I do believe it is a very well made canopy but prices is not cheap. the canopy claimed should be good for at least 10 years due to UV breakdown if parked in hot sun so that’s that.

I am not sure I will own this truck in 10 years.
you should try to call them again. Better yet come down to have them installed. The shipping costs to WA could costs as much as $600-$800.
if you down here, I can refer a local painter so will your shipping fees can be apply to painting. You still need to get the topper to the painter in a flatbed but… paying a little more will get you a custom finish Maxliner

Btw, the installation was free but… you need to check with Eve and see when their technician is here. it took at least 5 hours and they are very careful. They have to run electrical wiring, they had to drop part of the headliner. Having them installed also save me at least a few hour bucks… Unless you are good at that kind of thing

Good points & much appreciated! But by the time you start messing with truck freight to WA, painting, or painting & getting the truck to SoCal it gets that canopy extremely expensive. Now a $4.5-5K topper is pushed into the $7K plus range, maybe more.
At that price I’d just go with the light weight carbon fiber Narwahl canopy that weighs like 150lbs. Those are top tier, but spendy due to being fully carbon fiber, but once again…not color matched.
I’m ready to pull the trigger on a canopy in the immediate future. So I’ll probably seriously consider an A.R.E. Revo with the curved back glass & frameless windows. It’s what I ran on my previous F-150 that was traded in on my RR. I loved the look of that topper and the things built like a tank and in the Midwest. This might be the exact model I go back to for my Raptor. I can get it now, color matched, and I loved how it looked on my F-150 with that back glass & frameless sides.

cc1999 - that’s a good looking setup with the A.R.E. The white looks good with the canopy!

Quick ? - why’d they need to drop your headliner for install?

not sure? The canopy used electrical open and closed mechanism by switches on the side or key remote. The rear window has defogger too. The narwhal is sick, lighter and out of my budget
