FALSE, this was for a diamondback cover not purchased through Ford, but weighs more than Ford’s advertised weight of 88lbs above the bad rails.
So if you had read what I typed, I said it was the same action they are performing under the warranty as the FORD COVER implying that they are covering your claim under a similar warranty. Others have reported similar happening, you are not special in this regard.

Odd how? Labor is a sunk cost. They pay for those staff members every day regardless, so in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't cost them anything. A part, would. They might be trying to do a customer a solid.

I just got around to installing mine last weekend, after having them since last fall. If it makes anyone feel any better, the parts are quality and super thick. After looking at the factory solution, the j braces are much more robust and not that bad of an install.

I'd rather have put that 150 elsewhere, but I do feel like I got something for my money.
The J braces are not any more "robust" then the factory solution. Just because something is heavy doesnt mean its good. Please see Beats headphones as an example.

Vast majority of people will never need it honestly.
Yeah, but you can't foresee the future. Get them while they are available. Honestly, Ford should of ate their mistake and done a recall. As far as robustness, these are definitely at least 10x stronger then the factory solution, or more. they are box welded 1/8" steel. the limiting factor here would be the bed rail itself. Doesn't matter though, as long as the factory solution is adequate for it's purpose.

They're also gusseted on the side for additional strength. Definitely over built for their purpose. You can tell an engineer was pressed for time and cost wasn't a primary driver. They just over solved the problem. Which works for me, because that's exactly what I always do!

I would imagine that a bolt on solution look to be more robust then what they solved it with, but it doesnt mean its better or worse. its two different applications.

Unclear if we're just not aligning or if you're just being argumentative. No one said it was better. Just that it was more robust and the point I was making is at least in my opinion you get a quality part for the effort.

To be quite honest, he has been a douche bag throughout numerous threads. Your assumption is spot on.

I understand the original 6G bed was not rated to support more than 88lbs atop the gunnels. However, once the Ford OEM J Braces are installed, what is the new rating? I cannot find this stat anywhere.

So its not the whole bed, its just the rail part. The bed / truck will hold the normal weight listted on the door jam sticker. The the braces are specifically for putting things on top of the bed. After reinforcement you should be well north of 500lbs considering that gofastcampers sells campers starting at 335lbs for the 6g ranger and those can hold 2 adults.

Yup, a top the bed gunnels is how I described where the load is mounted. Can you please cite your sources for the ‘well north of 500lb’ claim? As I said, I cannot not find an official statement of this new load rating from Ford. I am working with THULE to assess the use of their new Xscape rack system, but they are also asking for this updated rating.

I dont have an official source, the number is based upon already for sale products by companies combining their mass + statis weight loads of what they will hold.
