Good news for americans. Rangers seem to be doing well and maybe will stick around for another 15 or more years

Thanks for posting, always interesting to see how the sales stack up.
A bit surprising to me that the Ranger appears to be outselling the Expedition.

I wonder why the f-series are down as much as they are. I’m hoping ford doesn’t blame the Ranger for that.

I understood that there are production limitations for the F150, related to that fire at the big aluminum supplier.
that is why production is down but there are 171,000. F150s in inventory

maybe special orders aren’t being fulffilled as quickly

i think it is an expensive truck and certain areas where this would be popular aren’t doing quite as well this year.

Architect & Business Owner... commercial projects for over 40 years.
New here but really enjoy the forum & posts so far!
Currently, I drive a 2021 F-150 Platinum (bought new) now with about 64K miles.
I'm seriously considering replacing with a 2026 Ranger, Lariat with 2.7 engine, 4WD & "all tricked out" with options (my Platinum has me spoiled & replacement cost is not a major consideration!)

Mostly will use for city or Interstate driving & under all weather conditions.... "off road" & trailer loads would be very rare but I want to have the option to do so in future.
As an architect, I visit construction job sites regularly & will use for business & personal travel (we are blessed to have 4 adult kids & 20 grands.... scattered all over the USA!)
My awesome & incredible wife of over 40 years & I travel some now but probably will do more in future.
I plan to replace standard running boards with motor operated (see "spoiled" above).

Thanks in advance for any pros, cons, recommendations or suggestions.

Blessings for life! John 3:16-17

welcome!

I find the Ranger is much more fun to drive, and especially park, than the F-150 I used to drive for work

A few things to consider
- we are obviously heavily biased in favor of the Ranger
- the Platinum is going to be a smoother ride. How significant the difference is debatable, and also depends on if you go FX4 or regular suspension.
- there’s little after-market support for the Ranger relative to the F-150.
- there are differences of opinion on how easy/smooth it is to enter/exit the vehicle. The F-150 has larger doors and may be easier on older folks (watch me get crucified by the many 70+ guys on here)

you’ve got 20 grandkids!!! Holy cow! I bet thanksgiving at your place is wild

I hope these aftermarket parts manufacturers see this and get off their ass
Genuinely curious about this.
Not meaning anything negative at all by asking this question.

I see this same sort comment quite often, but I honestly don’t quite understand what is not being covered by the aftermarket products currently on the market for Ranger.

Bed covers tons of options
Steps same
Bed accessories in general same.
‘wheels same
bumpers I have seen some , not really looked deep into them.
‘Custom seat covers check.
Custom interior bits and trim. check .
Suspension check
exhaust check.
Toppers check
Performance parts and performance tunes check.
Custom lighting check.

I just really can’t think of anything not being covered?

I genuinely would love to know more about what sort of stuff guys are looking for that they are not finding currently offered /supported within the aftermarket .

Fair question, for me personally

-Fox Shocks/Suspension Lift + UCA
-Bumpers (rival 4x4 seems to be the only option and is usually sold out and over 2grand, so definitely open to more competition and variety)
-Custom light mounts for front and back that aren’t Jerry rigged to fit the 6G
-Ford Tune (on ford not aftermarket) currently only available for 2024 under

In general would love to see most of the parts for the raptor also be available for the lariat/XLT/XL. Always see manufacturers on here talking about new products or getting feedback and it’s all for the raptor

It seems the F150 is the construction fleet truck of choice, the Maverick is the fleet truck of choice for non construction businesses. Who are the biggest fleet buyers of the Ranger?

Only reason I could make the Ranger work in some cases for my business , has mostly been because it has that required 48”+ measurement between its wheel wells . Had ford not made that specific change in the 2024 redesign, I would not have been able to to make that switch to Rangers for some of my sales guys.

48” between the wheel wells meaning it can carry a standard 4ft pallet of material flat on the bed floor with the tailgate closed has always been a critical requirement for our use case.

The strong residual values seen with Ranger. Arguably stronger residuals then F150s.

Nice easy to park easy to manage physical size.

Decent fuel milage and operating cost.

Decent price as far as value for the dollar given the rebates of late.

Only the Ranger and Full size 1/2 ton trucks or larger can carry loads like this.
No other mid-size or compact can carry a load like this.

‘Only the Honda Ridgeline has the 48”+ between its wheel wells. Which it probably could work, but the Polly bed floor and plastic compartments are not ideal for the materials we haul, also never seen much in the way of racking and cab protection. Really a unibody with a plastic bed and a transverse engine setup just really doesn’t seem like a good fit for our work. Some safety tech is also lacking on the Honda as well.

The smaller contractor vehicle of choice that still needs the bed space. Commercial or residential contracting it seems.

still, the price point between a half ton and the Ranger isnt that different such that an F150/Silverado/Titan wouldnt also fill that role with a better crew cab and the 6' bedbox option.
