Do it! Id buy one :) well I'd like the American Labs piece but it's too rich for my blood for that application
Adventure labs is awesome but yes too much for me as a Canadian. CAD FX plus taxes plus duty plus processing fees. We're talking about 350-400 Canadian ruppies.

But a friend just called me, he'll do it in aluminum for me. He works in metal machining...I forgot about this.

About 50USD if I provide the template (AI generated). And I probably have a rustoleum matte black paint can around..

Not off to a great start, ebay shipping provider lost my package (stealthbox) and the distributor for Audison speakers / amp has not shipped the package yet (more than 2 weeks now).

Trying to cancel / get refunded everywhere and will switch to better reliable options.

Probably end up with the AUSSIE stealthbox, and it might be a blessing for my setup.

I'll upgrade all speakers and sub to Hertz as well. Really impressed by the Cento Pro line (6x9 comp) and the MPS 250 S2 sub, and the Mille 70.3 3" mid for the center channel. I'd bump the companion amp to Forza C4D.

Not easy to get everything together.
Let's go, spring is coming !

Skar audio (seller) did their job to "ebay commerce shipping partner", all went great on that side (kuddos to Skar...). Then ebay uses different partners, and the local one in Montreal is Intelcom. Theyhandle Amazon stuff as well since Amazon got out of Quebec province (anti-union).

Already "lost" a internet router thru them, not the end of the world...just energy and time.

First off, I have to thank nate.co and his excellent thread Mega audio upgrade -- sound deadening, speakers, stealthbox sub, GMRS radio for guidance. The information was invaluable and a major time saver.
I went with the following components:
Hertz MPS 250 S2 shallow subwoofer
Hertz DIECI POWER DP 1.500 Mono Class-D Amplifier
Stealthtech Sub Enclosure
Kicker Keylok & Harness

I used 6061 T6 Aluminum 2'' x 1/8'' Flat Bar for the mounting brackets.
Tools used to fabricate the brackets:
-hack-saw
-assorted hand files
-1/2" disk sander
-6" bench vise

The factory sub is a 5 1/2" driver in a tuned wave enclosure. It operates in a very narrow frequency range. It sounds hideous and does more harm than good if you leave it connected.
My advice to anyone contemplating a similar upgrade is to shit can it and utilize the space to mount your amp.
I too had to reduce the gain on the KeyLok as it is pre-set way too high.
Overall I'm very happy with the outcome. I didn't bother upgrading the rest of the speakers. They sound pretty good once you remove the factory sub and add a real one.
Here are some images of what I concocted for bracketry and the end results:

What gauge wire did you run back to your amp? I am about to install the same amp and it calls for 4g which seems like overkill to me but maybe not?

For about 17ft of 500w for a sub only?

8 gauge OFC (make sure it's OFC) is well enough for just a sub. Use a 60 amp inlune fuse near the positive terminal and you're good to go.

OFC, not CCA and if you ever plan to do more / upgrade and add more channels / more power, you can wire now a 4 gauge to save you the hassle.

Awesome, thanks! Never going to run anything more than the sub; good to know about the OFC I wouldn't have thought about that.

I ran 8 AWG which is more than ample for 3.5M length. Maybe have another look at the wire gauge chart. You might have misinterpreted some of the information. Consumption is 21 amps at maximum power. Input that and your power cable run length for the recommended gauge.

That's a wiring diagram. Go to the page with the cable calculation table.

100%, gauge in wiring diagram is inaccurate, the table is clear. 500w amp (fused at 30A) require gauge 8 minimum.

Hell my water heater at home is on a 30amp breaker and 10 gauge wire ;-)

For those that might want to know, the Aussie Stealthtech box has a volume of 10.5 litres.
By the way OP, since ebay refund me for the lost Skar sub box, there was none left, so got the Aussie box. Got it today, pretty great. How do you like the terminals ? I might switch the screw terminal for a mountable XT-60 connector.

Also, I got my speakers sorted out, and going full Hertz (with Audison dual amps). The MPS 250 looks like a very great unit. Really impressed by Hertz speakers.

MPK 165P.3 components
MPX 165.3 coax
MPS 250...

Also got a spare Audison AV Voce 3.0 (from my Golf center channel) that I'll pop in center location.

Hope the weather is better in the West, here's it's too cold to start working on the doors and rear bulkhead.

Thanks for your input

I literally just buttoned up my install of a Kicker Keyloc DSP and Hertz 10” shallow mount sub powered by a Rockford Fosgate Punch 300.1. The RF amp specs called out for a 4 gauge lead & ground and that’s EXACTLY what I ran.
Truly never skimp on the wire size or wire quality. NEVER! Low quality & under sized lead & ground will only generate resistance & heat and could cause the amp to ‘clip out’ under load. Why risk a fire (unlikely but possible) but mainly why stress your new components? Plus, the battery system on these newer vehicles is under constant stress as it is. Undersized & garbage wire will only compound the issue as these systems were never intended to add a high wattage amplifier. It’s still the same amount of work to get it to the back of the cab be it 8 or 6 or 4 gauge. Yeah it’s a little more expensive and a little more work to get it under the door trim plates, but it’s worth it in the long run and your system will thank you for it if you run the proper size wire for your application. Just my 2 cents….

This is just the 4 gauge into the engine bay before landing it to the battery and an in-line 60 amp fuse block.
