Fitment - can you put a beer down without it falling over

Durability - can a dog run around in the best without tearing it up

Thickness - don’t want to hear any tools or hostages bouncing around in the back

Style - the best products are those where the mascot has a thousand yard Vietnam stare!

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you all for the great engagement on our previous threads and your interest in Michelin Products, we really appreciate the support! If you haven’t seen our previous threads yet, here are the links:

Thread 1: Michelin Bed Mat now available for Ranger
Thread 2: Michelin Tailgate Protector is Available Now!

Now, we’d love to run a quick survey:

When choosing floor mats, what matters most to you?
  • Durability
  • Fitment
  • Appearance
  • Anti-Slip performance
  • Thickness
Or something else?

We’re currently working on developing new Michelin floor mats, and your feedback may directly influence the direction of future Michelin floor mats designs.
If you have any features or ideas you’d like to see in Michelin floor mats, feel free to share them below.

🎁 To appreciate your participation, We’ll randomly pick one participant from the replies to receive a truck bed mat/tailgate mat as a gift! If we picked you and you have already bought one, we will make it free for you!

⏰ Deadline: April 6, 12:00 PM (PDT)

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks again for being part of the community!

Fit and coverage. Not covering all the carpet and allowing snow and salt to get to the carpet is a non starter for me.

I would say all are equally important but would also add easy/fast cleanup!
Great point — we completely agree that matters in daily use.
Easy and fast cleanup is definitely something many drivers don’t realize they need until they experience it 👍
We’ve been putting a lot of thought into making mats that not only protect well but are also effortless to clean.

I think you are questioning wrong by making closed answers and taking out valuable insight.
It would be more valuable if you ask for how was the perceived price of any other products, and what are the issues found. So you can actually balance price vs issues, and know how to fix issues that need, well, ACTUAL fixes in a given price point.
The answers you seek maybe need a better questioning.

I agree with most everyone else - fit is #1: edges and extending far enough forward to catch any foot rest and pedal contact. Had a set of weather tech in last vehicle, edges were excessively tall and therefore left a gap around the perimeter for dirt, debris, pet hair and anything that got dropped or spilled to get beside/under. Also their logo was really obtrusive. Ok to advertise your product but please make it unobtrusive, preferably stamped in rather than a stick on with another seam to collect grunge. Material would hopefully be easy to clean, a tough balance between texture for traction and not requiring excessive scrubbing to get the winter salt and mud out. Maybe texture on the raised areas and smooth in the grooves. Made in the USA for sure!

  • Durability - certainly, but really who makes floor mats that fall apart....
  • Fitment - Ding Ding! I have had many very very nice universal floor mats, they all actually suck. The factory mats or the expensive Weather Tech that actually fit are the best. This is the most important attribute...
  • Appearance - well yes! They should either look nice (classy)or look cool (like the tire tread design for example.)
  • Anti-Slip performance - a given.
  • Thickness - too thick is a problem. Too thin is... why would you do that?
I've had 3 vehicles that came with full Weathertech pkg, I love them, they got it right. BUT, I would never have paid the retail price for them.
I've had 2 Ford trucks that came with the factory mud mats (soft rubber style.) I love those too! If I were buying them for my vehicle, I prefer the soft rubber style like my 25 Ranger Raptor factory mats. They are so much more comfortable on my feet plus potentially sound deadening. Win win.

That’s a really insightful point — we appreciate you calling that out.

You’re right that understanding how people perceive price relative to real-world issues can lead to much more meaningful improvements.

Our goal is to study what’s already working well in the market and build something that better aligns with what drivers actually need in daily use.

We’d definitely love to hear more about your experience — especially what issues you’ve run into and what you felt was worth the price (or not).

Fitment is #1. If the fit is good, the performance is usually superior. After that it works be anti-skid.
An interesting idea would be floor mats with unique color designs that compliment the trucks color options. Not just different colors, but a unique color design. It could be a pricey upgrade option.

That’s a really interesting idea — especially matching mat designs to the truck’s color options. It could definitely add a more personalized look.

We’ve been hearing similar suggestions, and it’s something we’d seriously consider as more people show interest.

Really appreciate you sharing this — ideas like this help shape what we build next.
