Fitment is #1. If the fit is good, the performance is usually superior. After that it works be anti-skid.
An interesting idea would be floor mats with unique color designs that compliment the trucks color options. Not just different colors, but a unique color design. It could be a pricey upgrade option.

thats a good idea, color options.

fit is number 1 to me also. then i like anti slip and the rest equally. but if the fit is off, or the little clip doesn't hold it in place, i am going to stay unhappy with it no matter what. that is what made me happily swap my husky liner mats out to the tripleAliner mats

I'd rate my Husky mats 4.5/5.
Value 5/5 at $100 USD for front & rear
Durability TBD
Fit 4/5 most parts fit well, the clips don't hold well on driver side
Grip 5/5 you don't want to slip getting in/out of truck
Appearance 5/5 no gaudy logos or distracting design

The Husky mats are pretty thin which I think is fine - I've never seen an all weather mat worn through and the thinness makes it easier to get in and out of the truck.

When you live in a climate that is all 4 seasons, Weather Tech is the only choice. They fit, lock in like the original Ford cloth floor mats and can be washed and scrubbed without issue.

Fitment first, meet an acceptable level of functionality (coverage, grip, grooves deep enough to hold some mud/water), then price.

I prefer carpet mats. Fit is first, appearance a close second. It is important that they have holes to attach to the mat clips.

For me, appearance is. Lower on the list. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want them butt ugly in purple, but I really don’t see the matts once sitting in the truck. A good fit that doesn’t interfere with the accelerator pedal is top priority. The matts should latch whether you have rubber floor liners or carpet.
The matts need to be non slip, so your feet aren’t sliding around when off roading or emergency braking.
They should be durable and be able to hold a full 30 oz tumbler of coffee or your beverage of choice, without spilling onto the floor. Easy clean up is a plus.

For me its absolutely essential that fitment is exact, without this protection is compromised and quite frankly all other factors/features will fall behind.

Fitment is priority #1; nice high sidewalls and plenty of coverage (OEM Ford mats lack coverage beneath the pedals, my Lasfits don’t come up as high as I’d like them to and they slide back and forth half an inch).

Anti-slip and durability would then be next most important; you gotta trust you can put a wet or muddy foot on them and get traction. It won’t kill you, but slipping after you’ve committed your weight to the movement can really hurt haha. And obviously you want it to last for as long as can be reasonably expected.
