Second oil change, much easier than the first.
Got the filter from the top last time and replaced it with a K&N like all my filters for the last 20 years or so. With the K&N you need a stubby 1” wrench and reach down behind the brake lines.
As far as draining the oil, with the flexible funnel from Amazon, you can do it without removing the plastic pans. Put the funnel in place so it points towards the shield’s opening on the driver side and use a 15mm socket on the drain plug.
I don’t have a 1 inch stubby, but I do have an adjustable wrench I had to cut down for a plumbing project.

It’s weird, so many people have reported that it can’t be done. The K&N makes it MUCH easier though.

i have noticed that too. i just get the little step ladder next to the drive front wheel and reach down with my left arm right next to the brake booster and behind those lines. perfect and easy to grab and turn the filter.

From the top every time.
I use the standard Ford filter.
If on ramps a simple step stool will do.
