Year over year (April) sales across the board are pretty dismal.

Ford does not break out Raptor production numbers.
Guesses are somewhere around 7000 to 10,000. Others say 10-15% of total Ranger production.
What is known Ford built more RR in 2025 than in 2024 if that is any help. Also they ramped up RR production at the end of the model year for some reason. Also Ford changed the allocation model for 2025 giving smaller dealerships allocations where they had been excluded the previous year. With 2800 dealerships and low production RRs are a rare sight on dealership lots.

I've always wondered what the RR production figures are vs. the other Ranger trims as well. I think your estimate of somewhere around 10-15% of total production is probably a fair number.

Just for fun earlier today on cargurus.com I did a nationwide search for all new 2025 and 2026 Rangers. CG spit a total number of 8,631 units currently available for sale. Something cool about CG is that it will also breakdown the total number by trim level.

According to CG, of the 8,631 total units available for the 2025 and 2026 model year Ford Rangers , here is their breakdown:

  • XLT (4x4 and 4x2 combined) = 3,991 units; Approx. 46.2% of 8,631 total units available
  • XL (4x4 and 4x2 combined) = 2,539 units; Approx. 29.4% of 8,631 total units available
  • Lariat (4x4 and 4x2 combined) = 1,314 units; Approx. 15.2% of 8,631 total units available
  • Raptor (only offered in 4x4) = 787 units; Approx. 9.1% of 8,631 total units available

Of course, this is not a true apples-to-apples take on this question, the information from CG probably isn't 100% accurate/up-to-date and to be sure there are many other variables at play that the above table/CG admittedly doesn't take into account. But for getting a ballpark-type estimate of likely production numbers it scratched that itch for me.

I don’t understand why folks are saying it’s a dismal year. Ranger sales are up 5% over last year, and last spring was when tariffs were threatened and folks hurried to buy before the tariff price hikes (and if I’m not mistaken, ford helped that with employee pricing for all then too). Production and sales in q1 2025 were solid, and they’re up 5% from that. No what I’d call dismal by any stretch.

My local Ford dealer, which claims to be the largest in the nation, only has 3 Rangers on the lot.
In comparison, they have 88 F-150s on the lot.

A buddy of mine is interested in a Ranger, so we went together to the dealer just to look around.
He was surprised they only had 3 on hand. We checked another dealer, and they had 4.

My local dealer has 587 F 150s and 45 Rangers. He advertises that he is the largest Ford dealer in Houston. Their F150 inventory is usually close 1000 and Ranger inventory near 70. Guess your dealer may be exaggerating just a little bit🤣

The comments were about Ford sales, not just Ranger sales. Compared to last year, this year looks ROUGH. Even Ford's bread and butter model, F series, is down 16% compared to this point last year.

I am still trying to figure out why Mustang sales are up nearly 40% when almost everything else is down some down significantly. 🤷‍♂️
