Brake system warning after software update.

I am wondering if anyone else has had a bug resulting in a brake system warning light on the dash. My truck updated the software last night and this morning when starting it up I got the “brake system warning” notification and the brake light on the dash staying lit. Everything feels normal and my truck only has 16,000 miles on it. Is this a bug or do I have to look at my pads or lines? I checked to make sure the emergency brakes were disabled and it was.

After looking in my app. I found that it is my ABS that is malfunctioning. Not sure how that would've happen but I am just hoping it is under warranty or better yet just a bug in the system.

Mine did that also after the BCM update. Cycled the ignition a couple of times, pulled it out of the garage and it went away. I’ve driven it a couple of days and it didn’t come back.

ADDENDUM I just checked my truck, and it didn't show any update or any warning.

My Ford app says my last update was on April 24, 2026 Software Update 11 - Center Touchscreen SYNC-24-2.4.10

Can anyone else check there Ford app for your update number?

Mine did that also after the BCM update. CycleD the ignition a couple of times, pulled it out of the garage and it went away. I’ve driven it a couple of days and it didn’t come back.

Hopefully it is the same for me. I had to get to work this morning so I wasnt able to mess around with it. I will update after work

I got the warning Tuesday morning. The red brake light that illuminates when the parking brake is engaged stayed lit until I turned the truck off and back on again after driving about half a block. Was fine the rest of the drive but it's been sitting since.

The update I did overnight was BCM-25.7.0 which was a rear wheel speed sensor update and a Body Control Module. Which could make sense for the ABS code if the wheel sensor is bugged.

On my Ford App my April 24,2026 update was just a release notes

I just checked all my updates and I got BCM-25.7.0 on 5/15/2026. I wonder why I got it so early?

Had the same issue. said ABS system malfunction in the app. After one drive it was cleared out and gone

Relax, Nancy. Just cycle the power off/on to let the update reboot. It isn't a big deal.
