Carlsbad Caverns. The rooms are huge! The formations are huge! It's incredible.
We returned in the evening to watch the bat flight. It's indescribable how awesome and amazing it is sitting 50ft from the entrance as hundreds of thousands of bats fly out in near silence.

We loved the bat flight and touring the cave when we visited. We also got treated to a haboob (massive dust storm) while visiting. I think I'm still getting dust out of the Focus from that thing.

You are following a similar route the wife and I did about 10 years ago now. If you hit the Grand canyon and the go through death valley to vegas, it's almost exactly the same route

Looks like great fun on historic Route 66!
The image of you guys in Winslow at the "standin' on the corner" photo spot also captured an immature male bald eagle at the 2nd floor window sill. Amazing!

The Grand canyon is amazing to see. I still have to see these here in texas, though.
