Looking for a fuel filler cover/ cap to keep out water and crud

I have been using this one, it worked fine until my wife borrowed the truck and lost it.

It needs to be a good fit on a 58 mm/ 2.25” neck, most are too large. I would prefer one with a tether or else one in a bright color to make it less likely to get lost. A Maverik cap might work, but I prefer a USA vendor… Any links would be greatly appreciated.

I would be interested in one in a different color than GREEN, which is the standard for diesel fuel! …. Not that a diesel nozzle will fit into a gasoline neck, but why make things confusing?

I would LOVE to get your 3D print files, however I would prefer a version without the attached lanyard, instead provide one with a side lug and a 6 mm internal diameter hole, so I can use ABS, and just add a rugged and cheap flexible luggage tag loop like this.

The regular tag loops are much shorter, and I don’t think they would work in this situation, but you could link two of those end to end.

I don’t see the point of printing the cap and lanyard in one piece, if that breaks you have to reprint a whole nuther part. Plus I don’t have any experience printing TPU and it is expensive filament. I am really confident in my ability to print with ABS.

I got the file from purdyd and messed around with it - I am sure it is 100% fine with a stretchy filament, but it just wasn't working out for me with a rigid filament, I think it would require adding a strong magnet under the cap to hold it to the filler hinged "flap". I was just wasting too much time with it.

I ordered the one BrrRaptor mentioned above. It is ABS and I could always drill it and add a leash if I needed to. I really do not care much for the soft squishy PVC pipe caps.

BTW I measured the Ford pipe and it is just under 58mm (2.25"), not counting the four small ears that stick out....

I have that exact cap with a circular bright yellow e85 only decal attached to it. I would have liked to been able 2 get different colors for when I change fuels. So far works good for me.

I live in one of the most environmentally nazified places in the free world. I haven't had any problems with the vapor recovery pumps here.

I also designed and 3D printed my own...

Kind of annoying to take off due to how shallow the filler area is, but also not a huge deal

One thing I didn't notice until after I printed it was that the 2026 doesn't have the flat section on the hinge that can be used for the tether. So I made one and stuck it on with VHB
